Himalayan Java is widely praised for its excellent, high-quality coffee that rivals Italian standards, and its consistently good food offerings. Diners appreciate the cozy and relaxing atmosphere, making it a great spot for work or unwinding. While the food is generally enjoyed, some find it to be average for the price. "Recently came to Nepal for a vacation and found this gem of a cafe. The atmosphere of this cafe was unmatched compared to other similar ones and this ambience also added to the experience. The coffee and the food was very nice and really enjoyed every time coming here."

"One of the nicest cafes in Kathmandu, in my opinion. It’s a great spot to hang out, especially as an alternative to Starbucks (since there isn’t one in Nepal).
The coffee was excellent, and the drinks and salads were equally enjoyable.
I do think complimentary fresh water should be made available—it would be a thoughtful addition.
There’s a cozy bar seating area where you can enjoy your coffee while being served directly at the counter.
Definitely worth a visit!"

"As Good as Italian coffee
Himalayan Java is an excellent idea with spacious stores, casual friendly atmosphere coupled with excellent coffee. The coffee is mild and smooth, perhaps the best coffee I have had outside of Italy.
The service is friendly and the food is good and more importantly you can read a book or do your work while relaxing with a cup of coffee. It also has lots of options of teas which I did not try.
This is the only place you should have coffee in Kathmandu if you are not in a hurry."
