What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Yangling Tibetan Restaurant is celebrated for its incredibly tasty and authentic Tibetan cuisine, especially its flavorful momos and hearty noodle soups, all at remarkably affordable prices. While the food is consistently praised, some reviews note that the restaurant can get crowded, and service might be affected during peak times. Despite its simple ambiance, the warm hospitality and delicious, value-for-money meals make it a must-visit spot.
"Incredibly tasty food at low prices! Their veg chili momos are zesty and flavorful, and their veg chow mein tastes wonderful with the chutney! I think this might be my favorite place in Kathmandu."

"After reading good reviews on Google Map, my 3 teenage daughters and I went here for dinner. The food and service were good but not something to be excited about. The chili Momo (which are not available elsewhere) was very good however. This place is at the far end of Thamel on a rather dark street (unlike the busy area of Thamel which are brightly lit). All in all, we had a good meal."

"Yangling is the place in KTM for great Momos, and amazing Thukpas / Thenthuk. My personal recommendation are the steam buff momos, and the fried chicken momos. For Thenthuk, I would go for the mixed, with nice chicken, egg, veggies, and tasty noodles. Particularly amazing is the broth, which tastes rich in flavor, and has a nice texture. Service is really friendly, prices fair, and the vibe in the place in the first or second floor is amazing!"

Without a question, Yangling Restaurant was our favourite place to eat in Kathmandu, conveniently located right around the corner from our hotel. The exterior is completely unassuming, but as you find a table on one of the many levels of this narrow building, you’ll be presented with a menu filled with Tibetan classics, including the always popular momos. Their extensive drinks list and food menu had us worried thinking that no place could do that many variations of anything well, but we were absolutely mistaken.

Almost combining a little of the above, Yangling serves up hot Tibetan classics with some local favorites. Yangling’s crowded and the tables slightly messy from the meal someone had before you but the food is tasty, comforting, and served fairly quickly. Being on the edge of Thamel, depending on where you’re staying, Yangling is a longer (10-20 minute walk) but if thupka (thin noodle broth soup) makes you’re heart sing, it will carry your feet away.
