What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Koie Ramen is celebrated for its authentic, flavorful ramen and highly recommended Karaage. While many praise the delicious broth and fresh noodles, some reviews mention issues with flavor intensity, portion size, and price-to-quality ratio. The atmosphere can get loud, but the service is generally efficient and friendly.
"One of the best ramen places we have recently been to. The chicken one was tasty but quite basic. We also tried the one with minced pork which was delicious (a bit spicy). The fried chicken was extremely tasty and very tender on the inside. The gyoza was also delicious. They have some teas to choose from and then they refill your tea water. The yuzu sake was refreshing and an interesting combination of tastes."

"I visited Koi Ramen and was extremely disappointed. The ramen soup was very poor in ingredients and lacked flavor — it didn’t meet expectations at all. The second dish was also very small in portion size. Given the quality and quantity, the price was significantly too high.
On top of that, the water was served in a glass that smelled bad — as if it had been wiped with a dirty cloth. Overall, the price-to-quality ratio was completely off. The service and presentation do not match the level they’re aiming for. I definitely won’t be coming back."

"I highly recommend this place! The ramen was delicious, hot, and freshly made. The food was served very quickly, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely come back!"

The Best Restaurants in Oslo
When Koie Ramen first opened up near Torggata, they drew long lines of hungry people. Koie was Oslo’s first “real” ramen shop – the first to proudly make their own broth and noodles from scratch. With a second location in Oslobukta, the menu now includes mazemen (a brothless noodle bowl) and tantanmen, in addition to their standard selection of shio, shoyu, miso, and tonkotsu ramen.

A WEEKEND GUIDE TO OSLO
You’ll find the best ramen at Koie, an informal and relaxed restaurant (my favourite dish is their classic Miso Ramen). Sapporo Ramenbar is another great spot. Izakaya might not look like much from the outside, but they do amazing Japanese tapas (and great drinks too!).

Let them deal with that; the point is, Koie Ramen has consistently surprised me with the quality of their ramen. I dare say they make the best in Oslo, perhaps evidenced by the recent opening of a second branch. And precisely that second one appeals to me greatly.
