Reviews Summary
Le Benjamin is celebrated for its exceptional French cuisine, particularly its seafood and highly-rated chocolate soufflé. Diners consistently praise the outstanding service and cozy atmosphere, making it a top choice in Oslo. While the price point is on the higher side, the quality of food and overall experience are deemed well worth it by many.
"My go to place in Oslo when in doubt and if I can get a place. I always dine alone, but if you're more than one, try to book in advance. The service is excellent, probably the best I had in Oslo. The food is always on point, just never disappoints regardless of the menu changes. Do take the staff advise on the wine pairing, it never failed me."

"One of the BEST meals I've ever had! Deliciousness langoustine appetizer, followed by perfect ribeye AND salad, plus thick potato (chips) cooked in duck fat - just ridiculous. Best meal of our entire trip to Norway!"
Allan Rutenberg
"Best dinner I have ever had in Oslo and I come here quite often!!! Everything has super high quality ingredients, tastes so good. We had langoustine as the starter. Duck breast with chanterelle and entrecôte as main dishes. Even the side dish potatoes cooked in duck fat is amazing!!!"

Top 5 Things To See Taste And Do
Meanwhile for the best pizzas in town head to Villa Paradiso (which is handily located in both Frogner and Grünerløkka); for tasty tapas Delicatessen is a firm favourite; and for something meatier Le Benjamin and Trancher Entrecôte are both good bets. There also are plenty of bars to choose from (although alcohol prices in Oslo are staggeringly high): Champaigneria offers a wide selection of champagnes and tapas, and Dattera til Hagen is a bar/cafe/club all in one. For breakfast or coffee Kaffebrenneriet (with numerous locations throughout Oslo) is great for a pit-stop, while Godt Brod does a fantastic range of pastries and granola.
The expert travel guide to Oslo — where to stay, eat, drink and sights you have to see
One of my favourite restaurants in Oslo is Le Benjamin (lebenjamin.no/en), a French bistro located in Grunerlokka, the hipster area of Oslo, which is also a great place for food lovers to base themselves with lots of nice bars, restaurants and boutiques. Le Benjamin has amazing food and a lovely wine list; it has always been one of mine and my husband’s favourite places to dine in and it is particularly perfect for a romantic dinner before a night out.
Seven warm and cozy restaurants in Oslo
This is an informal bar and bistro in the Grünerløkka neighbourhood that is nevertheless elegant and serves very good French food. You should really try the place's escargots au beurre, ail et persil, and the main course entrecôte grillée, pommes de terre croustillantes, and salade et sauce époisses. Le Benjamin gets a big plus in our book for the fact that the children's menu contains something other than the ubiquitous sausages and French fries.

Le Benjamin is an unformal French bistro located in Søndre street at Grünerløkka, next to Akerselva river. The restaurant serves you authentic French food made with good raw materials from the bottom. Oslo's fine dining restaurants
This is about as close to the 9th arrondissement of Paris as Oslo gets. Those in the trade come here on their night off for the sort of unpretentious, if uncompromising, French food that puts a smile on your face. It’s one of the few places in town where you can get a whole Camembert flambé for dessert.

Le Benjamin is a relaxed French bistro in Oslo and a popular industry hangout. This rustic eatery serves classic French dishes, using local and seasonal produce. When in season, don't miss the langoustine with garlic butter, the pigeon, or the witch flounder with spaghetti, beurre blanc, and caviar.
A WEEKEND GUIDE TO OSLO
Delicatessen do Oslo’s best tapas and Le Benjamin do great French food. Kolonialen and Katla are both on the more experimental side, and I have had some seriously memorable dishes here. For a Michelin-starred restaurant (Oslo have a few), then restaurant Galt on the westside, is pretty special.

If you are looking for a luxurious dining experience, you can take a trip to the bistro Le Benjamin, Alex Sushi, or the Ekeberg restaurant - which by the way has the best restaurant view in Oslo. At Arakataka and Kontrast you can get a tasting menu with fantastic quality.
The 6 Best Restaurants in Oslo
Sleek and hip, this casual bar and bistro is the result of the owners’ many trips to France, a country they hold close to their hearts. Indulge in French cheeses and wine – by the bottle or by the glass – and homemade meals made from scratch from a three-course menu.

Le Benjamin Bar & Bistro is a small, somewhat hipster French neighborhood bistro that I find very convivial. I often just sit at the bar and always get talking to some interesting people. My favorite dishes are tarte flambé, the cheese plates and chocolate soufflé.
