Reviews Summary

Kokko Kaffebar is celebrated for its exceptional, on-site roasted specialty coffee and its uniquely designed, light-filled Nordic-style space. Diners rave about the delicious homemade cheesecakes and the overall aesthetic. However, some find the prices steep and have noted issues with accessibility and potential blockages of emergency exits.

"Probably only one specialty coffee in town, serving great choice of specialty beans and they have beans for sale too. The cheesecake is to die for, for real. We had passionfruit raw cheesecake, it was very refreshing and tastes very good. You can come with your favorite book or laptop to sit and chill here."

"Visited cafe while stopped in Stavanger on a cruise. After doing abut of research into the top coffee shops in stavanger i chose this one and It turns out I made a very good choice. Very friendly welcome from the two staff working there. Ordered a Oat milk flat white and it was possibly one of the best iv had. Coffee was really good. Not too strong tasting but alot of flavour. And the milk was done excellently too. Perfect texture and temperature for me. Very good all round. Thr shop itself was really nicely decorated too. Minimalist workshop type vibe. It looked great. Would 100% recommend to anyone who likes a nice coffee while in stavanger."

"Quality coffee in an unconventional, but pleasurable setting (just wished they would put two espresso shots into the latte and that they would offer some vegan food options)"

Cafes and the kulturhus

The second place Kokko had a completely-opposite aesthetic, spacious, bright, minimalist with the bookshelves containing expensive large glossy hardbacks on Nordic cuisine and design rather than second-hand novels and a Carla Bruni record playing in the background. The coffee itself was also a stark contrast, rich, strong and intense and the vanilla cheesecake was delicious but at 129kr (£11) for both I will soon have burnt my savings if I make a habit of it.

The Best Restaurants in Stavanger & Sandnes

Kokko is a beautifully constructed coffee shop and roastery, designed by an architect who also happens to have a passion for specialty coffee. There are three unique floors, two of which invite you to have a seat, grab a bite, and enjoy your caffeine boost. (The top floor is the office, but you can peek inside through a hole in the floor.) Sip an exceptionally crafted hand brew and try a slice of the cheesecake!
