"The place is very comfortable and cozy. We had a reservation, but it wasn't super full. Besides that, the experience was average. The ordering process happens via a QR code, and that's very practical. However, the paying system also happens via this, and that's a bit strange, as tipping happens at this early moment. Found it to be a bit odd.

"The food was okay, but overpriced for what it is, even by Tromsø standards. Food is ordered on your phone, which seems to be pretty popular here as this is the second restaurant that works like this that I've seen.
However, one thing I feel is worth mentioning: since all food must be ordered through your phone, you're required to pay before receiving anything. During this process, the app prompts you to leave a tip. Traditionally, a tip is given to acknowledge and reward personal service — such as being seated, having your order taken, food delivered, and attentive service throughout the meal. When none of these interactions occur, and you're essentially doing the work yourself through an app, it's unclear what service is being tipped."

I know this comparison game must be getting silly … but Pastafabrikken for those who live or travel a lot here in Europe is the Norwegian Vapiano!. 🙂 A self-service pasta restaurant, you choose the dishes from the menu and order directly from the counter where the pasta stations work and the cook prepares your dish right there in front of you. We love pasta and it was a great choice to end a freezing day walking around Tromsø.
