"HUGE portions. Tastes like home. The fried noodles is exactly like Vietnamese/Chinese dish we have home in California. Lovely staff!"

"Bustling chifa (Chinese-Peruvian) restaurant in Barronco set in a large and nicely decorated space. Came here with a group of 7 for lunch, and the place was pretty packed. Family portion sizes are huge - a few at the table ordered a family size soup to share and it was the size of a crockpot. A few vegetarian options - rice, noodle dishes with vegetables and tofu. Food was tasty, though greasy (not unexpected). Staff was friendly and was very appreciative that I left a tip (so much so that the manager came over to thank me and then gave me a gift)."

"Amazing food with even more amazing portions. This restaurant has been in the same location for decades, remember coming here with my parents as a small child. Obviously the place still looks like it’s been there for a hundred years but don’t let the place deter you from going"

Touted one of the best chifa (Chinese) restaurants in Lima, think big at Chung Yion, which is also known by the moniker Unión. It's best to arrive hungry, the better to take in the vast, steaming vats of wonton in multi-meat broth and mountains of chaufa rice. If you can gather a group, upgrade to a cozy booth outfitted with mustard yellow-curtains for the ultimate private dining experience.

Locals typically refer to this joint as "Chifa Unión," after the street on which it's located.

If I had Union in my barrio, I’d probably make it my go-to Sunday brunch pit stop. I’m not sure if this is the best Chifa in Lima, but it’s pretty damn good. The place is everything I want in a gritty Chinese restaurant: odd decor, packed with screaming families and impatient waiters, and serving an extensive menu with massive portions that come fast out of the kitchen.
