L'atelier Café Concept

This store is very well known for its hand-made jewelry, which is sold both at its store and its coffee shop in San Blas. They sell designer alpaca-made clothes and traditionally made Peruvian textile blankets and tote bags. Ingrid Thieblemont, The Parisian designer and Cusco-convert, has created stores with beautiful atmosphere and quality products.

This tiny cafe/boutique in the heart of San Blas was founded by a French designer who visited Cusco travelling, fell in love with the city and never looked back. On the ground floor you’ll find a range of handmade jewellery and vintage clothing from local independent designers; make your way up the spiral staircase to discover the cafe, with just a handful of tables and a small balcony overlooking the Calle de Atoqsayk’uchi. The menu has a focus on showcasing local artisanal produce, from organic coffee and teas to fresh fruit juices, housemade cakes, Peruvian beer and wine by the glass.

This gorgeous coffee shop/boutique is in the heart of the San Blas neighborhood of Cusco. They sell a variety of products, including handcrafted ceramics, artisan textiles, unique graphic tees and even 100% Peruvian sourced coffee. If you wonder a bit farther down Calle Carmen Alto you will run into the L’Atelier concept store, which sells a unique collection of vintage clothing, handbags, jewelry, and stationary.

Next up is one of the most famous coffee shops in the city, renowned for its very special view (that you can see at the top of this blog). L’atelier is not only home to the iconic flower-lined balcony looking out over Calle Carmen Alto but serves brilliant coffee and tasty cakes in their cosy café. Alongside food and drink, you can also shop art, textiles, jewellery and more handcrafted by local artists.

Get a taxi or Uber up the hill of the San Blas neighbourhood to L’Atelier Cafe Concept, a cute, tiny little cafe with only a handful of tables and a concept store attached to it. I absolutely adored their carrot cake, and had a cup of coca tea with it to help take the edge of the altitude effects!. L’Atelier is famous for their really lovely view over the lane outside the restaurant (see below photo).

L’ Atelier Café-Concept is a French-inspired cafe located high up in the San Blas neighborhood. When we say “high up” we mean on a narrow, steep cobblestone side street, whose name in Quechua translates to “where the foxes rest.” The restaurant offers a selection of coffee, herbal teas, masala chaï, as well as homemade cakes and tarts. The ambiance is relaxed with a great view of the city.

And finally, you haven’t really seen San Blas until you take a seat at the window of L’atelier Café. The coffee shop is connected to a boutique downstairs, which sells local, handmade goods. The view from upstairs quintessentially captures the cobblestone alleyways of San Blas, making it my favorite perch for writing or leafing through a good book.

Created by Ingrid Thieblemont, Parisian designer and fan of Cusco, this lovely store is known for its distinctive handmade jewelry. This tiny, blink-and-you-might-miss-it spot was my favorite cafe in all of Cusco. Located in the city’s hip San Blas neighborhood, it’s part boutique, part coffee bar and has a great little upstairs view of the area. Try the chai latte (to die for), but make sure to allow 15 minutes for your order as they brew it on the spot!.

Of the several cafés in San Blas, L’atelier Café Concept is notable for its unique view. If you can manage to score their hottest seat, in a small niche at the front, you’ll enjoy a gorgeous view looking down Carmen Alto Street, one of the district’s main lanes. There are only a few other tables inside, so good luck!

The first floor is a small cloth shop where you’ll find vintage clothing, or handmade jewelry, all of them created by independent artists,

L’Atelier Cafe – this is a very small cafe in San Blas with limited seating. There are two window seats, and one especially has that Instagrammable view overlooking the street. It’s not easy to snag it, so you have to either get really lucky with timing or get there right when the cafe opens.

Bags, hats, notebooks, make-up bags, dresses, paintings, photos and beautiful clothing. In this store you will find everything and it is lovely to walk around. On the second floor of the L’atelier cafe concept is a small cafeteria with fresh cakes, coffee and tea.

For a more laid-back evening, L’Atelier Café Concept offers a cozy retreat. This café-turned-nightclub serves up delicious cocktails and a variety of music genres. The intimate setting is perfect for those who prefer conversation over chaos.

If you are early enough (they open at 8.15 am), you can get the best table which is at the sun-soaked (that is, if the sun is out) window overlooking the lovely Carmen alto street.

As good as the coffee is, the jewelry, accessories, and homewares are even better. Get yourself something special to remember Cusco by.
