Reviews Summary

Morena Peruvian Kitchen offers a sophisticated dining experience with innovative takes on traditional Peruvian cuisine, complemented by excellent service and a lively atmosphere. While many praise the creative dishes, cocktails, and stunning views of the Plaza de Armas, some find the food, while good, not always mind-blowing, with an occasional mention of inconsistent seasoning.

"Came here after seeing this place recommended & I cannot recommend it enough.
The good was very tasty and creative. I got the gnocchi dish with chicken and flavours were great (especially the nutty topping).
For apps, we got the guacamole and fried cheese balls and as expected delicious.
The servers were all very friendly & attentive:)
Overall highly recommend !"

Maryam

"Morena offers a solid Peruvian dining experience, with a focus on local ingredients and generous portions. The food overall was good—nothing mind-blowing in terms of flavor complexity, but well-prepared and satisfying.

The standout dish was definitely the alpaca. Perfectly cooked—tender, rich, and full of flavor. It was paired with a risotto that, unfortunately, didn’t match the quality of the meat. The risotto was overly salty and lacked the creamy texture or depth you’d expect from a dish trying to elevate a local protein. A missed opportunity.

Cocktails were good.

The atmosphere is lively without being chaotic, and service was efficient. While the food didn’t completely blow me away, Morena is still one of the better places to dine in Cusco"

Tolga B.

"Dining at Morena in Cusco was an absolute highlight of my trip! From the moment I walked in, the team made me feel genuinely welcomed with warm smiles and attentive service that never felt rushed or forced. Every member of the staff went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable, informed about the menu, and always had what we needed. Their knowledge of the dishes and recommendations made the experience even more special.

The food itself was outstanding—vibrant, fresh, and beautifully presented. Each dish felt like a modern twist on Peruvian tradition, full of bold flavors that showcased the best of local ingredients. The portions were generous without losing refinement, and every bite was layered with taste and texture. Whether it was the ceviche, the perfectly grilled meats, or the creative cocktails, everything exceeded expectations.

What impressed me most was the consistency of excellence: top-notch service, amazing atmosphere, and unforgettable food all coming together seamlessly. Morena is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. If you’re in Cusco, this place is an absolute must!

PS: thank you for celebrating my birthday with your special touch!!!"

Morena is a sophisticated restaurant located directly in the Plaza des Armas. This restaurant was recommend to us by a Peruvian friend and it did not disappoint. You eat here for the views, the food and the experience. The menu is a mix of traditional Peruvian dishes. I had the Lomo Saltado and it was by far one of the best things I’ve eaten in Cusco.I was a little apprehensive to order it as, I had the dish in Nazca and it wasn’t so great, but at Morena it was mind blowing. It was the beef au jus mixed with cheesy quinoa that did it for me.
