Just below Plaza Nazarenas, Uchu Peruvian Steakhouse may specialize in steak but it’s not a classic chophouse. Uchu’s sophisticated, whimsical design sets the mood for enjoying alpaca, beef, chicken, fish, and shrimp that are still cooking/sizzling on a volcanic stone when brought to the table.

This heaven in Cusco for meat lovers quite deserves to be among the 5 Best Restaurants in Cusco. Not far walking from the Main Square, Uchu Peruvian Steakhouse shows a modern eclectic décor in a romantic environment. The specialty of the house is to serve the food on hot volcanic stone plates.

At Uchu’s the meat and fish are served on a hot stone with salad and potatoes on the side. The restaurant is situated close to the Plaza de Armas on Calle Palacio. The prices are a little bit higher than most restaurants in Cusco, but the food, the service and the drinks are amazing.

A moderate option with fantastic food and a cozy atmosphere is Uchu Peruvian Steakhouse. Their emphasis on quality ingredients (South American beef is outstanding) and inventive preparations made for a delightful meal. My perfectly prepared steak melted like butter in my mouth.

We are hopeful that the menu will feature both meat entrees for the Brawny Sherpa and vegetable-based ones for me. On the way up the street, we stop by a new-age shop of sorts and realize that it’s more of a shop offering products and services from ancient eras.

Uchu: At Calle Palacio 135, this is a great spot for Peruvian cuisine. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. You can cook meat, poultry or fish on hot volcanic stones or sample their traditional ceviche, tiraditos, causa, anticuchos and bruschettas.

I recommend getting the lamb and fries, but all their dishes looked delectable. Even though it’s a steakhouse, there are vegan/vegetarian options as well. They really cater to anyone’s taste, even having gluten free options.

For meat lovers, this resturant offers a selection of perfectly cooked steaks along with a variety of Peruvian side dishes. The lively atmosphere and knowledgeable staff enhance the dining experience, making it a must-try.

Meat lovers will appreciate Uchu Peruvian Steakhouse, which specializes in grilled meats served on hot stones. Their steak and seafood platters are perfect for a satisfying meal after a long day of exploring Cusco.

UCHU Peruvian Steakhouse – UCHU earned a spot as my second-best dining experience during my stay in Cusco. They serve incredible steaks cooked to perfection and have created an elegant, intimate setting.
