Reviews Summary

Pescados Capitales is celebrated for its creative and artistically presented Peruvian seafood dishes, with many diners raving about the fresh ceviches and standout Chaufa de Pescado. While the service and ambiance are generally praised, some reviewers note inconsistency in seasoning, particularly with ceviche being too salty, and occasional service delays during peak times. Despite minor drawbacks, it's considered a high-quality dining experience in Lima.

"Very interesting place to go in Peru. Food is different 😋! Good sign that ot shows there is a professional behind the curtains!"

José L F

"The food was delicious, but unfortunately, we found a hair in our fried calamari plate. While the staff apologized and offered a free chocolate cake as compensation, it dampened the overall experience."

Yuri Guerrero

"So let’s go the movie route with this place … Clint Eastwood style … the good , the bad and the ugly. First the good: amazing service , super attentive , surprisingly, the chaufa de pescado is the reason to come here … mind blowing flavors and super fresh! The bad, the reason I came here was for the ceviche but both were super salty … the ugly: the ceviche was soooo salty that I didn’t finish it but it looked beautiful.. I felt so bad leaving it there. Ironic that I came for the ceviche but stayed for the chaufa. I really hope it was just an off day for them because I’m coming back for the chaufa !"

Restaurants in Lima

This vast, whitewashed restaurant with a laid-back vibe is popular with limeños, who flock here for its inventive recipes and fresh seafood. The name is a play on the Spanish term for the seven deadly sins, and gula (gluttony)—think fettuccine with a mix of scallops, shrimp, and squid in a spicy cream sauce—is one of many sins worth committing here. Another is avaricia, or covetousness: the paiche fillet served with tacacho quinoa and the cecina (smoked pork)-and- chonta (heart of palm) salad will have your palate lusting.

Best Restaurants in Lima with Outdoor Seating

Pescados Capitales is a seafood restaurant, as you may derive from the name, but even more spectacularly, the experience is based around the Seven Deadly Sins, or in Spanish, pecados capitales. Gluttony is the obvious ring-leader, but don't be surprised when you're lusting after every item on the menu, greedy to eat to your heart's content and even a little envious of what the others at your table ordered. Fun without being frivolous, you can order creative yet representative Peruvian dishes that will blow you away.
