Reviews Summary

Entoy's Bakasihan is celebrated for its signature Linarang na Bakasi and other fresh, affordable seafood dishes, offering a unique culinary adventure. While the open-air, no-frills setup and potential for flies are noted, the delicious food and seaside ambiance make it a worthwhile destination. Some guests find portions smaller and prices higher than before, and service can be uninviting.

"It is in carenderia style, like a local eatery/restaurant. Food is already cooked and served upon order. We arrived hours after lunch so there was no traffic and queue. Food was delicious and price was affordable. The seafood were all fresh. Definitely a must try to all food lovers, will definitely revisit."

Stephie G.

"If you’re coming from Labangon side, best route is through CCLEX to get to Entoy’s. This place is kinda far, even from the airport area—you gotta go all the way to Cordova.

If you’re hunting for seafood and exotic dishes, this is the spot! The place itself doesn’t look super inviting, but trust, they’ve got a good variety of seafood. Every time we visit, we usually get crabs, saang, oysters, grilled fish, and ubod. We love everything except the oysters this time—they tasted kinda weird, like they weren’t fresh or had been cooked way too early. We barely touched them, sadly.

Also noticed that compared to a few years back when we first tried Entoy’s, the portions are getting smaller and seafood prices have gone way up.

We got there a little before 9AM thinking we were early, but not long after, more customers started showing up too.

We are still coming back this place when around the area."

Errol

"Not recommended for foreign tourists unless you like this kind of set up and you have a strong stomach that is used to local food. Set up is your typical carenderia, not air conditioned, messy, flies everywhere, and most of all, the locals really love this place. Its always full no matter the time of the day.
Food is just what i expected and i enjoyed my meal a lot. They have many kinds of seafoods and everything is affordable. Mas mahal pa ang singil sa habal habal."

Ever since Netflix’s Street Food Asia series brought bakasi, or tiger reef eel, into mainstream consciousness, Entoy’s Bakasihan has become sacred among foodie pilgrims. Its bakasi is prepared in a nilarang – a hearty stew flavoured with bilimbi fruit – and best paired with mais or corn grits, plus your pick of myriad seafood dishes on the restaurant’s menu (we recommend boiled spider conch and flying fish ceviche). Wash it all down with a cold soda at the open-air waterfront location.

Where & What to Eat in Cebu City: Best Restaurants & Must-Try Food

Entoy’s Bakasihan is an open-air diner specializing in a native dish called ‘linarang na bakasi’, a type of sour stew mixed with saltwater eels sautéed in green mangoes, soy sauce, fermented beans, and tamarind. It is located in the sleepy seaside town of Kampai Beach in Barangay Buagsong, Cordova off the tip of Mactan island, about 10KM away from the Cebu Airport. The ‘bakasi’ or reef eel is plentiful in the area owing to the grassy, muddy environment where the sea creatures thrive.

Cebu Food Trip: 26 Restaurants Worth Traveling For [UPDATED AUGUST 2022] Pepe Samson

If you have watched the Philippines episode of Netflix’s Street Food Asia, then you have heard of Entoy’s Bakasihan, a local favorite in Cordova. Nilarang* is a fish soup made with garlic, tomatoes, onions, and ginger, but in Cordova, they put *bakasi (moray eel) instead of fish. The eel served here is incredible and well-cooked—the texture is smooth and melty but not slimy.
