And that Ilonggo’s authentic-native-brewed coffee of Madge perfect pasalubong from Iloilo to bring home, whose concoction dates back to pre-war times, is now available at Atria Park District, Butlak at Diversion Road, and La Paz Public Market. Madge’s brew has won the hearts of many Ilonggos and tourists because the quality of their coffee is at par with what is offered by more expensive coffee shops around Iloilo City.

Peter, who now manages the place, was so accommodating to all. He went from table to table making sure all their customers were satisfied and all doing well.

Regular readers will know of my passion (weakness?) for art deco, jazz, coffee and cake. I didn't find any jazz this time (although I did see some salsa!) but I found some great coffee and delicious desserts. The Lapaz market is home to the original branch of the Madge Cafe where they have been serving coffee and snacks since 1938.
