If you want to move into a more upscale dining with a bohemian touch, Café Juanita is the place to be. Located in Pasig City, Cafe Juanita is known for its organic and sustainable products all throughout their menu. The restaurant also has their own version of sisig referred to as the "sisig on tofu' where the dish is mildly hot crisply fried pork minced with chicken liver, onions, seasoned with calamansi and chili, and served on a bed of soft tofu. You can also try their sizzling tuna sisig.

Bright lights and colorful design engulf Café Juanita, and for two decades, they have not dimmed a bit. When you find yourself mesmerized and captured by the lights of any Café Juanita branch, and it draws you to walk inside, expect to be enamored by their take of classic Filipino food. Like many Filipino restaurants on this list, the servings at Café Juanita are best shared.

It is located right beside Cafe Juanita and we later found out that both restaurants have the same owner. The interiors were pretty as I loved the fish pond with the mini wooden bridge. My only complain is they have kept the same concept as with Cafe Juanita where each table has this bell/charm hanging on top which can be used to call the attention of your server.

Cafe Juanita has been a neighborhood favorite for many years. After all this time, this place still manages to pack itself to the brim due to its classic Filipino dishes, kitschy details, and eclectic and over-the-top Asian-inspired interiors. Known by their patrons, they feature a regular Sunday Lunch Buffet featuring special Filipino dishes and desserts!

From what I recall, Cafe Juanita was the first restaurant in the area, and it’s been going strong ever since. The decor is an eclectic mix of fabric and designs from all over the Philippines. The menu consists of very authentic Filipino comfort food, and while it’s a little on the pricey side, the quality ingredients and rich flavors are every bit worth it.

No matter how much we love international cuisine, we’ll always come back to good old Pinoy food. I discovered Kapitolyo in 2007 only because of Café Juanita. It was my favorite go-to-restaurant whenever I’m in the area then and it was still the old Café Juanita at the corner of United Street. There was a season I was very addicted to Café Juanita and rightfully so.
