What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Pyra Bar is highly praised for its extensive potato-centric menu, generous portions, and reasonable prices, offering a taste of authentic Polish comfort food. While many rave about the delicious flavors and home-cooked feel, a few diners noted that the potato pancakes can be greasy, and the service, being self-service, can sometimes feel impersonal.
"Very nice polish restaurant with huge menu. I choosed dish with chicken, broccoli, mozarella and potato. Similar to lasagna, brought to the table in hot plate. It was delicious and the portion was quite big. Everything seems to be freshly made. Prices are reasonable. They don't do table service and you need to pay right after ordering.
Place was filled with locals on Friday night. I went back on second day of my stay in Gdansk and to try some homemade potato fries. Would recommend to try it with garlic sauce."

"Really nice food and service. We went for lunch and ordered the soup of the day (which is always vegetarian) and some potato pancakes. The soup was absolutely delicious and the pancakes were huge and really tasty as well, we barely could finish them! The price was very affordable for being in the city centre and the workers really nice."

"Incredible! Saw the reviews and decided to visit. Ordered the chicken potato casserole and it was to die for. Potato pancakes were also amazing, but beware they are ginormous.
They have an English menu available if you ask. It’s an order at the counter situation, and they bring to your table."

Experience in Gdansk, Poland by Aga
There is a lot of foreign cousine, but when it comes to the local one I would recommend Mandu (pierogi), Manekin (pancakes), Pyrabar (potatoe pancakes and potatoes). I really like Harcówka it is not the most fancy, but it has the most delicious and traditional polish meals.
