Reviews Summary

Kogel Mogel is praised for its refined takes on traditional Polish cuisine and its cozy, upscale ambiance. Diners rave about the excellent service and many highlight the duck and pierogi as standout dishes. While most experiences are overwhelmingly positive, a few guests noted minor issues like a cheesecake being slightly dry or soup being mediocre.

"Saw Kogel Mogel in the Michelin guide and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and helpful, all saying hello and acknowledging us when we arrived and our waitress was very knowledgeable and helped us choose our dishes. I particularly loved the goats cheese salad starter - so creamy and delicious. We all (4 of us) loved the food, atmosphere and staff but were too full for desert so I think we will have to go back. Thank you to the chefs and hard working staff, we appreciate your effort 👏"

"We had an amazing experience at this Michelin-recommended restaurant. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious! We started with the Start With dish, followed by wine and a main course. For dessert, we had a wonderful treat that complemented the meal perfectly. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food and the overall experience. It was our first time here, and we will definitely be coming back for more"

"Great spot for traditional Polish food in the heart of Kraków. We tried pierogi, polish cheese assortment, homemade bread, soup, meat and beetroot dishes… all were delicious and well-prepared. Cozy interior, nice garden area and friendly service. Prices are reasonable. Slight wait between courses, but overall a very good experience."

The Culture Trip

The Best Restaurants In The Old Town Of Krakow

Taking the form of a hearty Polish country kitchen, Kogel Mogel touts maybe the finest Slavic cuisine in the entire city. The menu is packed with goose legs and guinea fowl, aged tenderloins and bubbling broths (yep, it’s not the best for vegetarians), while a couple of ubiquitous regional staples also make an appearance: Zurek soup; pierogi dumplings; blood-red barszcz. Meanwhile, the atmosphere is uber-romantic, with just a small al fresco space for couples that’s open in the summertime.

Polish Cuisine Restaurants in Krakow

In the close proximity to the Planty park in Krakow, at 12 Sienna street, thjere is „Kogel Mogel” – a one of a kind restaurant, in which the culinary art of Polish cuisine is presented from a completely different perspective. Here, where the interiors are full of embroidered Krakow cracknels and painted golden-feathered hen lay eggs of pure gold, guest can try traditional Polish dishes in brand new, unique arrangements. The restaurant can organize occasional parties for such special events, as wedding parties, birthday parties, baptism and betrothals.

Restaurants in Krakow near The Old Town

mary, I don't usually remember names of restaurants, but I kept business cards from two in Krakow: " Babcia Malina (grandma raspberry) and Kogel Mogel. Neither were what I'd call fancy, but had great food and were nice. But the whole old town / old market (rynek) area is jammed with restaurants. Where are you staying? That might make a difference. The Kazimierz area also has a cluster of trendier restaurants I remember one called "Trezo" that was more upscale.

Farmers’ Market, Picnic in Krakow and a Kogel Mogel recipe

A dessert of seasonal fruits baked in Kogel Mogel (egg yolk and sugar) signed off this brilliant lunch. Kogel Mogel is a traditional dessert made with egg yolks, sugar and flavourings such as honey, vanilla, cocoa or rum etc. Kasia added her own twist to it, with a drizzle of lavender syrup bought that day from the farmers’ market.
