I’ve never been sure what the distinction is exactly between a bistro and a restaurant, but either way, Zazie provides grub that is as good as you will find in Krakow. Zazie’s menu is reassuringly short - beware the restaurant with a menu that reads like an encyclopaedia - do you honestly believe that is all freshly prepared and just awaiting your order?. - and in addition, you will spot Zazie’s chalkboard with specials of the day, which are reassuringly wiped out on the board one by one during the day as the ingredients are used up.

This busy French bistro offers a number of great wines and classic dishes like crocque-madame, cheese souffle, boeuf bourguignon, various quiches and potato gratins. They serve a number of succulent meat dishes (how about lamb tongues with mashed potatoes, green peas with mint, spinach and roasted linseed?) and beautiful seafood options (octopus with parsnip puree anyone?). Well, basically it’s hard to go wrong with anything on their menu.

At the French restaurant Zazie, Karakter’s big sister, the lunch set, priced at PLN 49, is chosen from three appetizers, three main courses, and two desserts. What boasts, dessert can be exchanged for coffee, tea, cider, or a glass of house wine. For connoisseurs, there is a lunch gratin - a much-loved potato casserole in one of two versions: goat cheese and spinach or duck and leeks.

ZAZIE Bistro, a home for exquisite French cuisine, offers dishes like the mouth-watering moules frites, Burgundy beef, or succulent duck breasts. Don’t forget to save room for their delectable desserts such as crème brûlée, chocolate cake, or fruit cake. With a comprehensive wine selection, you are sure to find a vintage that perfectly complements your meal.

Zazie is a rare find- a rustic, relaxed and intimate bistro.It’s a heavenly slice of France in the heart of Kazimierz. I start off with a lovely aperitif- Kir Royale.Main course, I plumped for a French Potato Gratin topped up with chicken, chorizo and red peppers in a tomato sauce with provenical herbs: food heaven. Dessert was the classic Crème Brulee.

Zazie is my first Michelin experience in my life, and it has definitely lived up to my expectations. When I was thinking about where to eat in Krakow, I searched up some places on Bib Gourmand hoping that I would get a suggestion that would be easy on my wallet. The reason why I chose to go there is because it doesn’t carry the Michelin price tag!

Of course, there couldn’0t be a shortage of small but cosy establishments: the perfect hummus shop Hummus Amamamusi (Beera Meiselsa 4), as well as the unobtrusive bistro Zazie (ul. Józefa 34), and the bright and uncompromising Karakter (Brzozowa 17).

Zazie Bistro (Józefa 34, www) – by many considered the best restaurant in Kraków, Zazie is a very informal small bistro with really great French-inspired food at a fantastic price. It’s always full, so make sure you book a table in advance.

The Bib Gourmand has been awarded in Krakow just to Zazie Bistro. Other restaurants were recognised with the spoon and fork symbols. Additionally, Studio Qulinarne received a red coloured spoon and fork rating for its pleasant atmosphere.

No city, however small, would be complete without at least one French bistro everyone raves about. While Venue gets rave reviews, it’s more at the cutting edge of fusion food. Zazie, on the other hand, is the archetypal French bistro.

This restaurant is very popular with both locals and visitors to the city. A lot of people are constantly there, for this reason, it is recommended to book a table in advance. Zazie Bistro is located in the Kazimierz Jewish District.

If it's supposed to be love and romance, it's only in French ;) This lovely little pub is the place you want to come back to. Snails and mussels are particularly noteworthy here. But there are always some new items outside the card.

Zazie is a quaint French bistro located in Krakow’s Jewish Quarter. This place has grown popular among Krakow restaurants for its classic French cuisine at good prices. Though the menu is a bit small, everything looked delicious.

For a little escape to France, Zazie Bistro is the place to go. The ute bistro cafe has a classically French menu. I came here twice, once for their lunch menu, which comes with a choice of starter, a main and dessert for 41 PLN.

Also shortlisted by the World Culinary Awards for Poland’s best restaurant were two others in Kraków – Bottiglieria 1881 and Zazie Bistro – and one from Warsaw, Butchery & Wine.

Zazie Bistro - a cute place with international/french cuisine. I enjoyed here very much the shrimps in panko, goat cheese and onion jam, octopus and salmon.
