What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Polka offers a visually stunning and flavorful Polish dining experience, lauded for its authentic home-style cooking and artistic presentation. While the food receives widespread acclaim, some diners note inconsistent service, with waiters sometimes being inattentive or forgetful. Portions are generous, and the cozy, colorful atmosphere adds to the overall appeal, making it a recommended spot despite minor service hiccups.
"A must have will be the duck and apple pie. The duck was tender and came straight off the bone. Additional tartness from the cherry sauce helped reduce the fattiness. The apple pie was delicious. Loads of apple and a slight crunch from the top pastry layer. Comfortable dinning areas with staff with some humour. This is a restaurant I would recommend to people visiting Warsaw old town for the first time 👍🏻"

"Polka is beautifully located in Warsaw’s Old Town, just next to the Royal Castle. The interior is cozy and charming, and we had a table reservation – though it wasn’t really necessary on the Monday evening we visited, as several tables were free.
Our waiter was friendly but not very attentive. He told us we had to order a starter because the main course would take at least 45 minutes to prepare – but the food arrived right after we finished the starter. He also offered to help us choose wine by letting us taste different options, but he forgot, and we had to ask for a glass of wine each halfway through the meal. We didn’t receive any water either.
That said – the food was absolutely fantastic! We had delicious pierogi for starters and pork knuckle for the main course. The pork was tender and juicy, and the side dishes were perfect. The portions were generous – we couldn’t even finish everything.
All in all, a mixed experience due to the service, but the amazing food earns them a solid four stars."

"There was no wait time to enter the restaurant, however; it took about 40 minutes for the food to arrive to our table. The food was alright, I would say it was good, BUT, it arrived not hot and practically cold. It was a bit hard to enjoy when the food wasn’t warm."
