"This is our favourite of the traditional Madeiran restaurants. Flambéed dishes are a speciality but honestly everything on the menu is delicious. It’s classic and homely but cooked to perfection. The staff are wonderfully welcoming, and there’s often football on the TV and lots of chatter adding to the relaxed atmosphere. Standout dishes for us are the prawns to start and the beef fillet to share for main."

The espetada was excellent, well-cooked, and served with vegetables, while the scabbard fish fillet was moist and delicate, complemented by a delicious sauce. Overall, the service was outstanding, Alberto was very professional and provided great recommendations. We also appreciated the Madeira wine that was kindly offered."
