What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Adega da Marina is a highly popular Portuguese restaurant in Lagos, renowned for its generous portions of fresh, tasty seafood and meat dishes at very reasonable prices. While many praise the lively, local atmosphere and excellent value, some diners note long wait times during peak hours and occasionally a chaotic, canteen-like ambiance. The food is generally well-prepared, with standout dishes like grilled fish and fried prawns, though one reviewer found the pork tough and the chips processed.
"We returned to this restaurant, both times fantastic experience. Quick to be seated and serviced, food is simple, tasty and the ingredients are fresh. It’s a popular place, groups of all sizes, tavern vibe. Waiters are all around, quick and friendly. We were with a toddler and 3 adults, ate some starters and 3 main dishes+drinks and paid 61€. Great value for money. The toilets are very clean, child friendly. I particularly enjoyed the grilled squid. Both fish and meat dishes are cooked perfectly."

"Adega da Marina is definitely an interesting eatery. The indoor dining area is quite large and open, almost feels like you're in a big cafeteria hall and has a pretty lively atmosphere when it's busy.
The food we ordered was quite good, we ordered sea brass, gold bream, baby squid and swordfish, all of which were well made. We didn't realize that the fish all came with side of potatoes and fries so we had ordered additional sides and ended up over ordering.
We also saw other tables ordering the meat items all of which looked pretty good with lots of food for the price.
Just note that if you come when it's busy (and it gets busy during dinner time) be prepared to wait for your food. Again, the food was good but we just weren't prepared for the wait. Otherwise a pretty good place to go to if you're looking for a Portuguese meal."

"I went with my boyfriend to have dinner at this place and I can only say that the only bad thing was that we had to wait half an hour to get in. This place is always busy and you have to queue to enter and I totally understand why.
The food is super tasty, fresh and very reasonably priced, you couldn’t ask for more. The waiter who served us was really friendly and attentive the whole time.
My holidays in the Algarve were incredible thanks to places like this."

On first glance, Adega da Marina could be accused of being an over-run tourist restaurant. Charm is not the priority here, and the high ceiling and volume of tables don’t do much to help create a sense of intimacy. However, look around on a busy night and you’ll notice at least half the customers are Portuguese.
