Casa Do Prego was our second favorite restaurant in Lagos (after POMÒ)! I highly recommend the warm salad and the pirri pirri shrimp. The Banoffee was SO good…we went back again on our last night for dessert 😂! We waited about an hour to be seated but was worth the wait!

Just trust me…it is 😊 Prego no pão is a traditional sandwich made of thinly sliced steak marinated in garlic, served on soft bolo do caco (fried egg optional). And every time I’m in Lagos, Casa do Prego is usually my first stop for lunch. There is indoor seating, a covered patio in the back, and a lovely rooftop terrace. My go to order (sandwich+egg and fries) is €15 (about $16.38) and is honestly...

Rooftop Bar

Head to the rooftop bar for drinks and enjoy the fresh sea air and sunset views, especially if there's a wait for a table.

If there’s a line to the restaurant before it opens, it must be good? It sure was! Highly recommend when in Lagos. They only accept euros, come prepared. And don’t order too much 🥲 the portions are big. #seafood #portugal #lagos #portugalfood

Reviews Summary

Casa do Prego garners high praise for its exceptional service, lively atmosphere, and delicious, generously portioned food. Many highlight the friendly staff who make guests feel like family. While most reviews are glowing, a few mention minor issues with specific dishes or occasional long waits, though most agree it's worth the wait.

"This restaurant should be on your to visit list. However, book a couple of days in advance. We tried to book on the day and were told it was fully booked but we might have some success as a walk up. We arrived around 8pm to find a queue of two couples ahead of us and the waiter told us we were potentially looking at a wait of approximately half an hour. In the event it was 15 minutes maximum before we were seated. That said when we left at 10pm the queue was right down the stairs and into the street. It's that popular. Did it live up to expectations oh yes, there's a great atmosphere, the staff are super friendly and attentive. The food is very good. I definitely eat here again. Well recommended."

"From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The mood was set perfectly—a trendy and vibrant atmosphere that instantly made us feel welcome. But what truly stood out was the staff. They were not just friendly; they were incredibly warm and engaging, making everyone feel special, including our kids.
The food was nothing short of perfection. We were particularly impressed that our children, who are notoriously picky eaters, devoured their tuna and chips with gusto. Every dish we had was prepared with care and tasted fantastic.
This is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience. The combination of a stylish setting, delicious food, and the most wonderful staff made our evening unforgettable. We can't wait to come back!"

Lenny Soueidan

"Food was great and so was the ambience but above all the set it was impeccable. Even if the food was terrible I would still recommend just to experience how good service can get. Staff treated each guest not like valued customers but as friend and family, and I’m not exaggerating even a bit. Menu is small but excellent selection. Ant get quite busy and may need to wait on the line but it’ll be worth it."

Lagos Food & Drink Guide

We headed to Casa do Prego on our first night in Lagos, as we had read great things about it on Yelp. As we suspected, there was a bit of a wait for a table, so in the meantime we headed to the rooftop bar to grab a drink. Luckily, the rooftop was the perfect place to sit and enjoy the fresh sea air and one that I would recommend checking out at some point during your stay.

Unfortunately this is another spot that I didn’t get the chance to visit myself (because we couldn’t help going back to Cashino di Petiscos one more time), but wanted to include anyway.
