One place I always go back to in Lisbon and the place I always mention when someone asks where to eat in Lisbon. 📍 Cervejaria Ramiro This is not your typical cervejaria. It’s one of the best restaurants in Lisbon for seafood lovers. The food is fresh, simple, and full of flavor. I always go for the shrimp in garlic sauce or oil, giant tiger prawns, and carabineros (scarlet shrimp). If you know, yo...

Reviews Summary

Cervejaria Ramiro is lauded for its incredibly fresh and delicious seafood, with many dishes receiving high praise for their quality and flavor. The lively, informal atmosphere and attentive service contribute to a memorable dining experience. However, some visitors note long wait times and occasional issues with food preparation or service efficiency, suggesting that booking in advance is crucial.

"This was one of the best meals we had in Lisbon! It was so worth the price and the seafood were all so fresh.

We got their Barnacles, their snow crab with sauce, Carabineiro, clams, scampi, and their prego. The Barnacles was nice and briny, similiar to clams or mussels. The steamed scampi was overcooked until almost shredded. But the real show was really the crab. The crab was filled with fresh meat. We love the way they made the crab sauce with the crab head, and it was the perfect dipping sauce.

The vibe at the restaurant was fun and relaxed, and the staff were friendly. Definitely a spot I’d come back to whenever I’m in town. Highly recommend if you love good seafood!

If you want to come here, definitely make a reservation because this spot gets packed and your 25€ deposit is applied to your bill in the end too!

10/10 would recommend this spot if you love fresh and delicious seafood!"

Siti Sulistyani

"Booked online, so no need to wait.
The seafood is really fresh. Not fishy at all.
Highly recommend the scarlet prawn. Fresh and bouncy shrimp meat.
The edible crab is also amazing. Rich in flavor and has huge claws.
The bread with butter is crispy outside and soft in the middle. It tastes even better with the sauce from the food.
The clams and scallops are great as well.
The service is good, and the atmosphere is good. Highly recommend."

Uncle Tim Chow

"seafood are super fresh, bread tastes good with strong butter. no wonder it’s crowded. recommend trying dish with different cooking method

we didn’t book table in advanced, waited for an hour, around 40 tables before us when we arrived at 8pm. luckily there is a lounge area for waiting where you can get a drink or sit there."

When Anthony Bourdain visited Ramiro in 2013 during filming for his show No Reservations, he turned the local cervejaria (beer bar) into a must-visit restaurant for tourists and locals. Despite the name, Ramiro serves up truly incredible seafood, including lobster, prawns and crab – all served by the kilogram (and therefore best enjoyed with a larger group). Discover The Best Restaurants In Lisbon

It’s three floors of culinary fun – this much-loved Lisbon seafood hall dates to the 1950s, yet locals and visitors alike still happily queue patiently for its food and drink delights. They’re here for the next-level shellfish; think fat lobster drizzled in lemon juice, sweet langoustines and plump, buttery shrimp, all washed down with beers, wines and the odd cheeky martini. If you do have to wait for a table (and you should count on it), get ahead on drinks in the bar downstairs while you wait.

It is a 100% local customer based and long established “Cervejaria” (literally translated to place where beer is dispensed), with an buzzing ambience and above all, very high quality cooked on the spot seafood. What I love more about this place is its unpretentiousness and the “no fuss” approach to seafood. Eating with your hand is more than recommended and don’t be scared to dunk the freshly bake buns in the fresh crab meat which comes in the shell or in the velvet buttery sauce of the “bulhão pato” clams.

Perhaps the most well-known of the Lisbon seafood restaurants, Ramiro is our recommendation for enjoying this classic. Unfortunately, they don’t accept reservations and so customers tend to form a queue outside every evening, waiting for a table while sipping on beer from the outdoor beer tap. Once inside, the clams will taste so much sweeter after the wait – particularly if you accompany the dish with a cold glass of white wine and a plate of their famous garlic butter bread.
