Restaurante Ponto Final: Find the best view in the city by heading out to Restaurante Ponto Final. It has excellent traditional Portuguese food, but there's one catch: You have to take a ferry to get there. But, again, you'll be rewarded with a stellar view of Lisbon from just across the bridge.

Quite probably, the most popular of all restaurants in Cacilhas. Ponto Final’s instagrammable location has contributed to its rise to fame, which was solidified when the restaurant was featured in one of the closing scenes of the acclaimed Netflix series Money Heist. Looks and views aside (which is something actually not to dismiss, as here you get to dine right by the river with a splendid view of Lisbon and the 25 de Abril bridge), Ponto Final’s food is actually very much worth it too.

Your trip in Calcilhas area isn’t complete without a meal in the Portuguese classic Restaurante Ponto Final. This used to be an off-the-beaten track spot, but ever since Lisbon guides have put this on the must-visit places, this restaurant has been ever so popular that visitors deliberately take the trip across the river just to dine here. And there’s no question, it boasts the best view of any restaurant, with an outdoor patio providing a scenic view of Lisbon’s waterfront and skyline.

The name makes justice to the location of this restaurant, as it is literally at the end of the river walk on the other side of the Tagus. To get to the restaurant you will have to cross the river on the commuter ferry from Cais do Sodre (Lisbon Side) to Cacilhas (Almada). Fear not as the about 800m left river walk (in the direction of the ocean) takes you through a decaying memories of a once thriving fishing and boating community that inhabited this particular stretch of river.

A photo of happy diners overlooking sunset on the water and the lights of Lisbon gave me a what-iffy king of pang of longing for a city that I have daydreamed about living in since the first time I visited in 2017. At some point after that, I watched the episode of Somebody Feed Phil in which he goes to Lisbon and eats there, which made me want to go even more. If you haven’t seen Somebody Feed Phil, I recommend it.

A pleasant view, a table with an umbrella and good food made for a delicious and relaxing meal before the walk back. The meal was highlighted by discovery of a wine type we hadn’t known before: red green wine. Portuguese green wines (Vinho Verde) are named for their age rather than color; the restaurant’s proprietor comes from a region with an assortment of reds made to drink young.

I should have taken a picture of the facial expression of the hotel manager, when I told him I cancelled the super popular, Facebook darling Ponto Final, and their dreamy sunset table, for a gloomy (in comparison) table at a Goan restaurant he never even heard of. Its like I asked him if I can borrow his girlfriend for a day. I spared him the laundry list of reasons for this move.

Ponto Final Restaurant - is just on the other side of the Tagus River in Almada which you can drive or catch a ferry to. It is probably one of my favourite spots ever - There’s something about dining on fresh seafood right next to the water, watching the dolphins and sunset while drinking wine. It’s touristy, but if you can get a table on the pier, you’ll not notice.

In Cacilhas, located literally by the river, Ponto Final allows you to contemplate a different scenario and have a magnificent view of Lisbon, Belem and the Tejo river. Away from the bustle of the capital and in an informal atmosphere, this place invites you to have a drink and taste some Portuguese delicacies on a terrace that will surely stay in your memory.

The oldest one is Ponto Final, which was around when the warehouses were still functioning. Dulcinha Coelho, the current co-owner, was just a customer at that time, but as soon as she could she bought this restaurant out of love for the area and without any expectations. “I didn’t imagine that one day this area was going to be a trendy spot,” she says.

This charming little restaurant is located on the southern banks of the Tagus River, in the town of Almada. To get here you cross the Tagus with the ferry. Contrary to what you read on the internet, this restaurant is not difficult to find – when you get off the ferry and turn right and just walk along the river shore, you’ll arrive at Ponto Final.

Ponto Final is one of Lisbon’s secret gems and is located on the far bank of the River Tagus. Set on a small pier on a river inlet Ponto Final is famous for it’s magnificent seafood, panoramic views of Lisbon and the iconic April 25th Bridge. To get to Ponto Final take one of the orange ferries at Cais do Sodre to Cachilas (cost Euro 2.50 return).

Finally, if you have time, hop on a ferry across the river to Ponto Final — the number-one spot for looking back at Lisbon and eating dinner as the sun sets over the city. It books up months in advance, but you can arrive at 6.30pm and queue for a walk-in spot (there are other places around with good views if you don’t get a table).

There are waterfront restaurants in Lisbon, and then there’s Ponto Final. I was mersmerized by this restaurant when I saw it on Somebody Feed Phil. Situated at the end of a concrete pier overlooking the Tagus River and the 25 de Abril Bridge, it was one of the most beautiful and unique restaurant settings I had ever seen.

Ponto Final was made famous by Phil of “ Somebody Feed Phil“, a Netflix travel series because he had an epic meal with a view here. After that, this restaurant blew up on Instagram too. Ponto Final is across the river on the other side of Lisbon, so you have to take a ferry to reach just like visiting Christo Rei statue.

This wonderful, picturesque, restaurant is on the other side of the bay from Lisbon, perched above the water with an incredible view of the bridge and the city. You can get there via a 10-minute ferry ride across the Tagus from the Cais de Sodre station to the Cacilhas stop. Or, it is a quick drive over the bridge.

Ponto Final is a worthy place for tourists because to get there you have to make some effort. You can get there by taking the ferry at Casi do Sodré station to cross the Tagus River to the Calihas pier. Then you have to walk to the 25 de Abril bridge and walk half a mile along Rua do Ginjal.

Location: Almada (across the river, take the ferry)Vibe: Rustic, no-frills, postcard-perfect sunsets. Yes, it’s technically on the other side of the river, but Ponto Final is worth the short ferry ride. Perched right at the edge of the water, it delivers front-row views of Lisbon’s skyline.

You go to Ponto Final for two reasons: The food and the view. The restaurant is, to place it correctly, in Almada, but this is just across the Tagus River from Lisbon. The 20-min ferry ride from the Cais do Sodré ferry terminal in Lisbon to the restaurant is totally worth the experience.

As you get off the ferry, it takes about 15 minutes to walk along the river (Cais do Ginjal) to reach the elevator, after passing lots of ruinous warehouses (could be a place for a movie set…!), and a few restaurants, both worth a visit 🙂 : Atire-te ao Rio* and Ponto Final*.

The best view of Lisbon needs to be observed from across the river - Ponto Final has the best sunset view over the bridge and river. As for the city view, Lost in, La Paparrucha, Seen, Madame Petisca, Rossio Gastrobar are good choices.

Ponto Final was recommended to me by another gay traveler in Lisbon who had a wonderful experience here. It’s a waterfront Portuguese restaurant on the south side of Lisbon’s river. Sunset time is the best time to go to Ponto Final.

For a more romantic dining experience, head to Ponto Final, located on the south bank of the Tagus River. This restaurant is housed in an old warehouse and offers stunning views of the 25 de Abril Bridge and the city skyline.

At P into Final, you will get great views of the Tagus River as well as enjoy very delicious meals. You should also know the menu here is mostly made up of seafood. Meat and vegetarian dishes are limited here.

The view is the same, but the bright yellow Portuguese “Gonçalo” terrace chairs make the most beautiful contrast with the dark blue of the Tejo river (see photo at the top of this page).

Once you dock, you’ll need to walk a further kilometre to get to Ponto Final. Yes, there are closer restaurants for a working lunch, but trust us. It’s worth the pilgrimage.
