What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Casa Doina offers an elegant dining experience in a historic villa, celebrated for its traditional Romanian cuisine and beautiful garden. While many praise the delicious food, impeccable service, and charming ambiance, some diners find the value to be less than expected, with occasional complaints about food temperature and service attentiveness.
"January 2025: the same excellent experience as usual! It’s an important quality being constantly perfect. Typical Romanian cuisine. The dishes were very tasty, large portions. We had tripe soup/ciorba, beef schnitzel with mashed potatoes and truffles, sea bass on the grill, mititei (Romanian meatballs), lava cake (one of the best I’ve ever eaten). Waiting time - short. They do not condition your stay to 2 hours, as Hanul Berarilor and Carul cu Bere do. Prices - convenient (except for wines; they should lower the prices). As usual, the service was impeccable (Georgiana and George deserve a 10+)!"

Food in Bucharest: what to eat and drink here
In my experience with tourists, I could see the reactions to some places and I can recommend you to try the ones made at “Casa Doina”. One place that has a long and very good reputation is called “La Cocoșatul” (“cocoșat” means “hunchback”; the old owner was hunched).
