Beluga restaurant is known for, well, caviar so as a vegan it might seem like a tough place to dine but don’t let the name deceive you, vegan options are available and they’re great. For Lent their menu offers a plethora of options from a forest mushroom soup, zucchini with parsnip and almond mousse, a pasta with artichokes and sundried tomatoes, and even pavlova. The non-vegans get a higher variety of items as to be expected so they can choose from the Kiev koloboks with potatoes, to the ravioli of sorrel with sturgeon caviar, and of course a visit couldn’t be complete without trying the violet mille-feuille with white chocolate.

Beluga, a spectacular restaurant on the second floor of the National Hotel overlooking Red Square, has two dozen unique varieties of black caviar (along with a few reds) – the best assortment in Moscow. Try 25 grams with a shot of high quality vodka, and a tasting set of three kinds of black caviar. Apart from black caviar, the menu also features other delicacies from the oceans, seas and rivers such as urchins, giant oysters, muksun, toothfish and more.
