What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
This historic Belgrade restaurant offers a lively, traditional Serbian dining experience with a bohemian atmosphere and frequent live music. Guests praise the generous portions of delicious grilled meats and friendly service, while some note that the experience can feel dated and the music might be overwhelming at times. Despite mixed reviews on consistency, many find it a must-visit for its authentic ambiance and flavorful cuisine.
"We really enjoyed our lunch here!!! The lamb and veal roasts were both amazing, as was the blueberry pie, and wine selection. Service was wonderful, and the musicians serenading was a nice touch too. It’s in a beautiful part of Belgrade too. Would thoroughly recommend!"

"Wanted to love it, but left a bit underwhelmed
This place has loads of glowing reviews, and I really wanted to like it. The building itself has an old-world charm, and the menu covers all the Serbian classics you’d expect.
However, the overall experience felt a little dated—from the decor to the worn menus and slow service. The staff spoke English well and the menu was easy to follow, which I appreciated.
The food took a while to arrive and was served mostly warm, not hot.
All in all, it wasn’t bad—but in a city like Belgrade, where the food scene is genuinely exciting, this spot just didn’t quite live up to the hype for me."

"Great! I was recommended this restaurant by my Serbian friend and my hotel’s receptionist after I had a very bad customer service experience in other restaurant in Belgrade the day before (just when we arrived). That caused me to have such lower expectations of hospitality from the people here. However, the restaurant staff are quite friendly and that made my time in Belgrade feel better. The food also very delicious"

Among the best of these is Tri Šešira, a rustic yet elegant restaurant specialising in traditional Serbian cuisine. Here you can try barbecue specialities like pljeskavica (spiced meat patties made from a mixture of pork, beef and lamb) with ajvar (a red pepper paste popular throughout Southeastern Europe) or Karađorđeva steak – a breaded, rolled veal or pork steak stuffed with kajmak (a dairy product similar to clotted cream). The Nutshell Guide to Belgrade (2014): Top foods
Although Skadarlija is probably the biggest tourist trap in Belgrade, I have a soft spot for ancient and gigantic Tri Šesira for not letting its standards slip with popularity. In the late summer the thing to go for is the starter of pohovane paprike sa sirom (breaded peppers stuffed with soft cheese) and ćevapi sa kajmakom (grilled meat with special cheese). Although there are better places to enjoy grilled food (e.g Naja or Jb) but the central location, nice setting and good enough quality make it great.
