What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Scarpetta is a highly sought-after Italian pasta bar celebrated for its authentic, handmade pastas and unique appetizers like Uni Toast. While many rave about the quality and flavors, diners should be prepared for significant wait times, as reservations are not accepted and queues are common. The intimate, bar-style seating and dining time limits contribute to a casual, buzzy atmosphere, but some find the service lacking in engagement.
"Some people say this place is overrated, but for me, waiting an hour in line was absolutely worth it. Our favorite dish turned out to be the beef steak from their special menu, perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and tender and juicy on the inside.
Over two visits, we tried six different pasta dishes, and each one stood out with its own unique flavor. Every plate was thoughtfully prepared and delicious.
If you're looking for a fine-dining atmosphere, this might not be the spot for you. The one hour dining limit and high chairs make for a more casual experience. But if you’re after authentic, high quality pasta at a reasonable price, this place is a must visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!"

"Came here on a saturday at 5.10pm hoping to get the first sitting but just missed it by 2 pax. Ended up on the 2nd seating at 7pm. So waited 1 hr 50 mins for a table.
The verdict? The food is mostly good but not worth even a 30 min wait. I will not be back to queue unless they open up for reservations. But judging by the long queues they may not have an issue for a while.
The uni and bone marrow toast were good. The flavors of uni, butter and lemon for the toast for were interesting but combined seemed to work.
Folks who have been to the old La Strada for the seafood pasta will be pleased to know the crab tagliolini provides a similar taste and nostalgia. Honestly one of the better seafood pastas I’ve had since la strada closed.
Skip the aglio olio. It’s wet and spicy and doesn’t resemble the typical aglio olio.
Hamachi crudo is worth the try. Ribeye steak only if you have stomach. Otherwise don’t bother."

"Ordered Negroni, Boston lobster toast, spicy alla vodka and al granchio a limone. I love pasta so I’m definitely biased, because it’s pasta! But seriously 1st was special and appetising, latter was tad salty but still good. One chef cooking everything but got quality. 👍
Here’s the dealbreaker. Reached 6.24pm, waited and seated at 8.25pm. 9.19pm came with bill and terminal for payment (few mins before ask if want dessert). 9.22pm another came apologetically needed the seat. The wait is longer than the dining time. Do the math, period.
When I left, the guy greeted me goodbye with me name, that’s nice and warmth but Adios Scarpetta 👋"
