Reviews Summary

Zén offers an unforgettable fine dining experience with exceptional service and a creative fusion of Nordic-Japanese cuisine. While the price point is high and the meal can be lengthy, most diners find the unique multi-level atmosphere and meticulously crafted dishes well worth the splurge, making it ideal for special occasions.

"The service from start to finish was impeccable. The whole night all we talked to were great then to top it off an email the next day. They were so accommodating, remembered every detail and making each level feel like such an inviting space. The courses were all top quality and kept us interested. The few hours for the tasting menu flew by because we were enjoying the food so much and the talking through of the menu was fantastic. 10/10 would return."

Natalie Buxton

"Finally had a chance to enjoy the incredible dining experience offered by Zen over lunch yesterday. Great service, beautiful ambiance, a very cool experience to dine on all three floor floors of the restaurant (kitchen, dining room, living room). I also enjoyed the pairing offered which featured sake, Korean rice wine, and wines."

Michael J. Novielli

"Was there for lunch and found out that it was not a meal prepared by a three-star restaurant, but the whole experience was unforgettable.

Was welcome on the ground floor where the ingredients for your meal were presented so that you could appreciate these hard-earned ingredients.

Then, the experience continued on the second floor where many dishes prepared table side for you.

The dessert was served on the third floor which had a marvelous collections of digestives and whiskies.

The experience ended in a memorable way when you stepped out of the elevator only to find that the whole kitchen staffs were waiting to say thank you to you….sublime."

When you are looking for an out-of-the-ordinary experience, both food and wine-wise, Zén should be high on your list. The casual and informal treatment by the staff, while at the same time being correct and extremely knowledgable on all aspects of the food, beverages and the pairings, gives this establishment that little extra that you should expect from a three-star Michelin restaurant. The food is very exciting, tasteful and beautiful in a more Asian-inspired way than what might be expected, seeing that the origin of the concept is from Scandinavia.

Restaurateur Loh Lik Peng, who owns the Unlisted Collection of restaurants, including a few ranked on both lists such as Zén, Cloudstreet, and Burnt Ends, says: “The Michelin Guide is probably a bit more rigorous and professionally judged. It has been around for a long time, and for most chefs, it's seen as the gold standard for dining guides. The 50 Best list is created by a panel of industry people, and it's not always very clear why certain restaurants get on the list, and some don’t.
