Reviews Summary
Hollywood Bunny Bar is lauded for its iconic bunny chow, with many praising the flavorful curries and the hearty portions. The lively atmosphere and friendly service also contribute to positive experiences. However, some diners have reported issues with inconsistent spice levels, with 'standard' being exceptionally hot, and occasional concerns about meat quality and freshness, leading to disappointment.
"Good food and so the service as well. There's always someone waiting to assist at the dinning."

"The family and I had gone for brunch. We had ordered the R300 special in which you get 2 ½ bunnies and 2 burgers with chips. We had also ordered the "Hollywood Famous Breakfast."
The 2 lamb bunnies were absolutely delicious as they always are.
With regards to the burgers, we had taken one beef and one mutton burger. We did ask that only the beef burger not have any garnish on it. When I had gotten the burgers, both did not have any garnish.
The breakfast was good and worth it for the price given the fact that you also get tea or coffee. The downside was that the eggs were not salted and the toast was not even toasted. It had come with only one butter for two slices of toast. The spicy mutton sausage was not spicy at all. It was mild.
The staff were really friendly and very helpful.
I would definitely recommend going here for a good bunny. It is definitely a place to revisit."

"Very disappointed with the food from Hollywood bets. My husband and I have bought bunnies and samosas numerous times and the food was absolutely delicious.
Yesterday the 02/09/2025 we purchased mutton mince , chicken samosa and a chicken bunny . The samosa were soft , cold and oily. The mince that was used had a horrible taste to it . I was most disappointed in the chicken bunny because the bread was soaked with thick gravy and 2 small pieces of chicken and no one piece of potato .The curry did not taste good like it was not freshly prepared and it made both my husband and I very sick."

Restaurants in Durban
Though you'll be surrounded by the big screens of Hollywood Bets broadcasting live horse races and games, don't be put off. The air-conditioned restaurant, with a large covered deck and dedicated Bunny Bar for take-out, serves up some of the best bunny chow in Durban. The mutton curry is hell-fire hot and the broad beans (try to get it before noon) bunnies are legendary.

The restaurant has an enjoyable atmosphere enhanced by their iconic purple colour that catches your eye as soon as you walk through the door. It had a very sports bar vibe to it. I think it’s a great place to sit down, enjoy a bunny and watch some sport.
