Reviews Summary

This restaurant is praised for its creative and high-quality Spanish tapas and main courses, with many highlighting the excellent seafood and wine pairings. The ambiance is described as modern and cozy, with pleasant outdoor seating. However, some diners note that the service can be inattentive or unwelcoming to non-locals, and that certain dishes, particularly rice, may not meet expectations.

"we loved this restaurant! the most amazing food, service and understanding of coeliac/gluten free. the wine was amazing and the atmosphere faultless. an amazing experience, all around. despite being on the front, this is not a tourist trap and is a chance to sample the amazing cuisine spain has to offer - namely the seafood, in a fine dining format. we ate outside which was lovely!"

"We arrived without a reservation and were given a table by the window overlooking the esplanade. It made for great people watching.
The service was very friendly and the food was really well executed and fresh. It was nice to see a majority of locals.
We would definitely go back."

Charlie Hartmann

"We had a great experience at this restaurant. Food was delicious and service was great too. A couple of waiters were checking on us if everything was alright and topping up our drinks.
The menu is quite broad and everything we ordered was a hit!
Shame that the final course was a premium t-bone suggested by the chef (off the menu) and we couldn't enjoy it fully since we were already too full from all previous courses! Portions were big!
I recommend this place and surely will go back."

Bang in the middle of town, this smart but unshowy restaurant is your go-to for chef César Anca’s clever-creative riffs on Spanish tapas that show care but still bear enough heft that it’s safe to come hungry. The menu is changeable but dishes might include a delicious rich callos de bacalao (cod tripe stew), grilled foie gras with mango confit or a rework of the classic coca amb tonyina (Alicante-style tuna pie).

Cesar Anca, which is situated just off the Explanada de España, serves some of the most creative and delicious tapas we've found in Alicante. It's also been easy to grab seats at their bar on both visits. Uber decadent oxtail cannelloni with a crispy jamon crumb is a huge flavoured dish.
