Reviews Summary

7 Portes is celebrated for its rich history and classic Catalan dishes, especially its iconic paella and fresh seafood. Diners frequently praise the elegant, old-world ambiance and attentive service, with some servers receiving specific commendations. However, a few reviews mention inconsistencies in service and the potential for high prices, with one diner noting an issue with being overcharged for bread.

"Perfect food, despite us being a very very large party (almost 90 people) with some special requests like halal steak and starters, everything was well catered to. The steak was perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth. The servers were super attentive. All in all a very very positive experience. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Plus it’s a legendary culinary restaurant that has maintained its class and presence."

"We were recommended to this restaurant on July 5, 2025, by our local tour guide as we were looking to eat authentic Catalan food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fine dining so we were expecting good service and fancy (and expensive) food. We made reservations and were seated promptly. There was music being played on a piano that made the ambiance quite pleasant. However, our first impressions for the waiter assigned to our table was not good. He did not make us feel welcome. Maybe because he did not understand English well, but even a smile or a pleasant facial gesture can bypass all language barriers. We were trying to ask about some of the items on the menu, but it was pointless trying as he did not know or did not want to try to find out what we were asking. We ordered from the menu without asking any more questions. He ignored us for most of the evening. The food, by the way, was excellent, 5 stars easily, the paella was tasty and plentiful. Just our service left us with a bit of a sour taste which was bittersweet for a nice dining establishment."

Andy Lee (Dr. Andrew Lee)

"Absolutely loved everything that I had here. The staff was absolutely amazing and I got a tour of the private rooms if you want to book them for your family or a date. The rooms are chic and have their own. Also this restaurant has so much history including some artist paintings that were given to the restaurant. Picasso once lived there too. Just love"
