Reviews Summary

Disfrutar offers an exceptional, unforgettable culinary adventure with highly creative and visually stunning dishes, often described as edible art. The service is consistently praised for its professionalism and warmth, making the long dining experience enjoyable. While pricey, most guests find it well worth the cost for a unique gastronomic journey.

"Overall nice, but not perfect to me.

The technique and innovation perspective is no doubt, but felt a bit boring after the same ingredient and technique is used over and over again. Only one staff per table so not that nice for a bigger group like us (5). As group of 5 we didn't have the open kitchen table, which was fine but worth noting. Wine pairing was great. Nice price compare to Michelin 3 star restaurant in my city. But probably won't come again."

Xue Feng

"I went to this restaurant in 2019. My experience was very good! My friends and I order the disfrutar classic menu. It was plenty of food, I believe 10 or 12 options, all of them very unique and different. I liked a lot. However, my friends considered that the menu has to be less food and the didn’t like the tables. Despite that comments, I consider that this restaurant deserves the Michelin Star!"

Olli Cruz

"It took us 2 years to get a reservation at this restaurant so we were definitely looking forward to the experience. I am happy to say that the experience met our high expectations. While the decor itself is somewhat minimalistic it was a treat to see the different work spaces/kitchens and get an explanation for each. The service was well coordinated and the staff had great attention to detail. Each of the 28 courses was creative and beautifully presented. We were very happy with the diversity of flavors and textures. Hopefully we will be able to get a reservation to return next year to try a different menu."

The 25 Best Restaurants In Barcelona - Barcelona

Despite being one of the best restaurants in the world, you’d struggle to find a fine-dining spot more laid-back and actually pleasant than Disfrutar. The three owners were each previously head chefs at elBulli (the place where they started putting foam on plates), and they’ve brought all that expertise here, without any snobbishness. What you see on your plate during one of the tasting menu experiences is rarely what you taste in your mouth, whether that’s a panchino (or bao bun) filled with beluga caviar or a “gazpacho sandwich” that’s actually just sliced bread filled with tomato-flavored meringue and a refreshing gazpacho sorbet.

Three former head chefs from the legendary former best restaurant in the world El Bulli combined their considerable talents to create this roller-coaster ride of culinary fun (the word "disfrutar" is Spanish for "to enjoy") spotlighting tasting menus of dazzling inventiveness and good taste. Bowls are swirled to reveal beetroot meringues emerging from sesame-seed "earth" (the seeds are made to look like soil), and jellied truffle-and-egg tempura hit the bull's-eye of pure pleasure; desserts are otherworldly. No wonder, then, that the three chefs now hold their own spot close to the top of the World's 50 Best Restaurants list.

11 Hottest Restaurants and Bars in Barcelona

Whatever you think of the global hit parade that last year proclaimed Disfrutar the best in Europe and second best in the whole wide world, you’re sure to be awestruck by the terrifically avant-garde $315 tasting menu. Chefs Eduard Xatruch, Oriol Castro, and Mateu Casañas were all cohorts of Ferran Adriá back in the day, and to judge by their cooking at Disfrutar (the name means “Enjoy”), the experience has stuck with them. There’s Bulli-esque wizardry in such creations as the “onion soup” reinvented as a puff of onion “bread” with Comté cheese, coconut squid “meatballs” with a soupçon of curry, and “black apple” cooked for two months at 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
