This little restaurant is located well away from everything else and unless you know it, you would not just pass it. However, it well worth looking for it because the food is probably the best I have had in Fuengirola. Real good quality ingredients, prepared very well without any fuss and in normal quantities (not the absurd tiny plates as served in some fancy restaurants, nor the the absurd large portions served elsewhere). The main plates comes nice sides included. We had fish but happen to chat with the table next to us who were eating meat and clearly regulars. According to them Salina serves the best meat in town. Going by how good the fish was, I believe it. For drinks they have a surprisingly large and well chosen wine list that would suit a Michelin restaurant. The service is like the food; excellent, very friendly and without fuss. We liked this place so much we went back just a few days later and the food and service was just as good as the first time.

Mesón la Salina stands out for promising high-quality dishes. Its star dishes are those made from meat, since it is a steakhouse, but no one can leave this restaurant without trying its ham and cheese. They are specialists in preparing veal sirloin, suckling pig and leg of lamb, and their dishes of rich potatoes and aubergines with honey are famous.

The meat is super tender and the professionalism of the waiters and kitchen is excellent. Very attentive to my gluten intolerance, informing me at all times of what I could and could not eat. We will repeat for sure.

Offering great value for money, La Solana serves the very best of authentic Spanish cuisine, inlcuding meat and seafood. Dishes are small but delightful and will not leave you hungry.
