Reviews Summary

El Churrasco is widely praised for its exceptional steaks and traditional Cordoban dishes, set within a charming and refined atmosphere. While many rave about the tender, flavorful meats and attentive service, some diners have reported inconsistencies with meat preparation and accompanying sides, leading to occasional disappointment.

"El Churrasco in Córdoba is an absolute gem! For me, it’s hands down the best steak I’ve ever tasted perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor. The restaurant has a cozy yet refined atmosphere that brings a special touch to the dining experience, and the service is friendly and attentive. Beyond the steak, their selection of traditional Spanish dishes is incredible, and the wine list is impressive. If you’re in Córdoba, this is a must visit spot for a memorable meal."

Magno Safadi

"Visited Restaurante El Churrasco for lunch. They’re open from 2:00PM-4:00PM for lunch hours, and 8:00PM-11:00PM for dinner hours. We were ten minutes early, and they let us in right when the clock hit 2:00. Punctuality is priority! Bread was placed on the side plates and water was brought to us after we climbed up the stairs to the third floor. There are multiple rooms to this restaurant, FYI. Ordered quite a bit a food, and it all came in a fair amount of time. Although that could be because we were a few of the only customers. The food; amazing. I got Stew Broth with Mint, and I cannot explain the unique flavor. Also ordered a mini wagyu burger for myself, wanting to see how the meat tasted. It was delicious. We ordered a bunch of other stuff, and it was great."

Miyabi

"They have a selection of dishes that cover veggies/meat/sea food. We shared some fried squids, then had main courses of octopus and cod fish, tender and flavourful.
Although a reservation is recommended, we arrived there right after they opened for dinner and got lucky to get a table at the second floor. They had pages of reservations for the evening and the place got full in no time.
Staff is focused and attentive and they manage their tasks efficiently."

Restaurants in Cordoba

The name suggests grilled meat, but this restaurant in the heart of the Judería serves much more. In the colorful bar try tapas (from €3.50) such as the berenjenas crujientes con salmorejo (crispy fried eggplant slices with thick gazpacho), while in the restaurant opt for the supremely fresh grilled fish or the steak, which is the best in town, particularly the namesake churrasco ibérico (grilled Iberian pork, served here in a spicy tomato-based sauce). There's alfresco dining on the inner patio or upper-floor terrace when it's warm outside—also the season to try another specialty: gazpacho blanco de piñones con manzanas y pasas (a white gazpacho made with pine nuts, apple, and raisins).

Córdoba for food and wine lovers

Founded more than 50 years ago in a small inn in Córdoba’s Jewish quarter, El Churrasco has grown to include more than a dozen themed dining rooms, from a traditional cordobés patio to more modern settings, as well as a bespoke bodega for tastings. The cuisine has expanded too, but the original churrasqueadas (top- quality meats grilled over charcoal) are still the speciality of the house. There’s also a cosy bar for pre-dinner drinks or tapas grazing, with an impressive display of prime cuts awaiting their turn in the kitchen.

Best Restaurants and Tapas Spots

One of the restaurants I had firmly planted on my Córdoba food list was El Churrasco, and it more than lived up to the hype, easily becoming one of the best restaurants in Cordoba. Tucked away in the heart of the Judería, this cozy yet refined spot is known for its Andalusian classics and top-tier grilled meats. We tucked into their rabo de toro, a rich, slow-cooked oxtail dish that was simply superb, followed by their signature grilled steak, which was nothing short of sensational—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.

This mythical spot, known for its typical Córdoban cuisine, also stands out for its extensive wine list. Although they do not currently have the expert guidance of a sommelier (until recently, the renowned Ángel González performed that function), the wine experience at El Churrasco more than holds its own against other restaurants.
