Reviews Summary

Diners praise RESTAURANTE SIDRERIA TROPICAL for its generous portions and authentic Asturian cuisine, particularly the highly-rated cachopo. While the food is generally considered delicious and good value, some reviewers note cramped seating and less attentive service during peak times. It's a popular spot with locals, so booking ahead is advisable.

"Very nice cider house in front of San Lorenzo beach. Do not expect a fancy place but good food, real Asturian "cachopo" and good cider. Actually many locals say that is the best cachopo of whole city. Very good value for price and staff very efficient considering the is was complete full. Book in advance if you are coming on weekend."

Rutas Afa

"This restaurant was good. They rating is reflective of their poor service and their seat arrangements. They have their seats so close together you almost feel like you are inside an airplane. Their is hardly any room to move in between tables. The menu is topical of the area and has a large selection, and the food was tasty."

Robert Moore

"Cachopos are great, service isn’t the best, but worth to drop by and try their cachopo while you are in the city"

The Port of Asturias | Gijón

While in Asturias – we were on a mission to try some Asturian cuisine, namely, Fabada and Cachopo. And a highly recommended, local place to do it is at Sidrería Tropical, located right off Playa de San Lorenzo. Fabada Asturiana is Spanish bean stew, with pork shoulder, bacon, blood sausage, chorizo and saffron.
