What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Madreña offers a mixed bag of experiences, with many praising the authentic Asturian cuisine and friendly service, particularly mentioning the Fabada and desserts. However, some diners have found certain dishes to be underwhelming in flavor and portion size, with occasional complaints about pricing and atmosphere. The pet-friendly terrace and attentive staff are frequently highlighted as positives.
"Excellent price to quality ratio. The fabada had beans that are not overcooked, blood sausage that was fresh (and bloody), and broth that was not like porridge. Super friendly and chill. Locals. I expect that the nice lady that cooks actually knows what she is doing and is not pandering to the tourists, like most of the overpriced places close to the beach.strongly recommended if you are looking for authentic Asturias. Also, dog is cute."

"I had a Fabada Asturiana, it was my first and quite disappointing. The lady was kind enough but the atmosphere was not great. They charged me 1 euro for bread which I didn't ask for."
Raphael
"Five canned asparagus for over 12€. The price isn't an issue if the food was good. Before ordering the wok vegetables I asked the waitress if the vegetables were also canned and she confirmed it. I could not eat more than 1 asparagus because I really dislike canned food.
The waiter that took our order had a very unpleasant smell, no uniform.. this is a place to avoid.
Lots of smokers, loud and terrible food sums up this place."
