What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Casa Lola is celebrated for its authentic Spanish tapas, vibrant atmosphere, and excellent value. Diners rave about popular dishes like garlic prawns and patatas bravas, and the energetic ambiance makes it a lively spot. While service can be a bit inattentive during peak times due to its popularity, the overall experience is highly recommended for those seeking a genuine taste of Malaga.
"I stumbled upon this gem in Málaga and was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere is lively yet impeccably clean, making it a pleasure to relax and soak it all in. I tried their classic vermouth, which was perfectly balanced and delicious. The tapas were outstanding—each dish was a delight. Highly recommended!"

"A nice place to stop by for some tapas.
The service is very fast and you’ll get your tapas pretty quick. The drinks are well-made and refreshing and the food is very good. For the food you get it’s a bargain price-wise.
For accessibility there are high tables outside and on the inside you have lower tables.
The restaurant is nice and cool on the inside, donuts perfect if you want to escape the heat during the day!
The toilets were a little messy when I visited, but the staff was also very busy with all the guests."
Jonatan Göthman
"I came back to this place after two years, and it still hits the spot — I love it! It's great because you can try lots of different things by ordering tapas instead of just one big meal. I really recommend visiting. From the outside, it might not look like much, but once you see how packed it is, you’ll know it’s a good place to grab a bite.
During busy times, you might have to wait in line for about 10–20 minutes, but it's worth it. Because it’s so popular, the staff can be a bit slow to take your order. But once you order, the food starts coming out one by one within about 30 minutes.
If you're in Málaga, you should definitely try this place!"

The Best Late Night Eats In Mlaga
Competition for customers on Calle Granada, the bar-packed central thoroughfare of Málaga’s old center, is fierce. It speaks volumes about this uber-traditional establishment, then, that it’s always heaving. Casa Lola is still in full flight when many of the restaurants nearby are starting to wind down, meaning the locals – who don’t even think of heading out for dinner before about nine thirty at night – congregate here for long, noisy catch-ups late into the evening.

Málaga (2024
I first visited Casa Lola in 2017 on my first trip to Màlaga and since then it has grown like Topsy with multiple branches, including two on opposite sides of Plaza de Uncibay, and another set of restaurants called Pez Lola. But my heart belongs to the original branch on Calle Granada, a brilliantly buzzy taberna which is often full at lunchtime very shortly after opening. It has become a tradition for me to go there on every trip, usually at the start of my first day in the city, and invariably I order some beautiful ham and a cold vermouth (they do one, chispazo, with Coke which I like even though I probably shouldn’t) and a selection of pintxos topped with prawns, salt cod or morcilla.
Original Malaga restaurants where to eat well at a good price
This charming restaurant is located in the centre of Málaga. Very near the Picasso Museum and the Church of Santiago on calle Granada, Casa Lola stands out both for its retro bull themed decor and an original wall covered in food-related expressions (born with a silver spoon in your mouth, I don’t care what people say as long as I get what I want, etc.) as well as its home-made vermouth, well-poured, perfect temperature draught beer, Iberian produce served on old cold meat paper, mounds of anchovy and condensed milk, Majorcan sausage with blue cheese and pringá de puchero. Excellent value for money.
The Food of Malaga and Where to Eat
The second day I went to Casa Lola for some tapas for lunch, after an early visit to the botanical gardens. The great thing about tapas bars is you can order just 1, 2 or 3 tapas – you don’t need to order a full meal. And the bars are quite happy to serve just one drink and one tapas and see you move on; you’re not ‘committed’ to stay there – many people bar hop (though not to the degree they do in San Sebastian).

Next up was an order of fried chicarrones and a Spanish Charcuterie board of salami, cheeses and a Jamon Iberico. The chicharrones are small bits of fatty and oily pork deep fried and they are one of the most delicious things you will ever eat in your life.
