What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Los Gatos is highly praised for its delicious, authentic Spanish tapas and warm, welcoming atmosphere that appeals to both locals and tourists. Diners rave about the friendly service, reasonable prices, and the overall lively ambiance. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some mention that tapas can be bread-heavy or light on certain ingredients, and the restaurant can get quite busy.
"Lovely friendly place. I wasn't super hungry so just had the salmorejo but it was delicious - full of garlic and olive oil! They even gave me a free G&T :)"

"Stopped here on a sunny winter day for an afternoon snack and glass of wine. Staff is super friendly and the restaurant is full of local decor and flair. I enjoyed a glass of white with two tapas. Both were heavy on the bread and light on the anchovies and octopus. However, they had a beautiful flavour and hit the spot. Located in the Old Town, this is a charming restaurant that seems to attract a mostly tourist crowd."

"A very beautiful restaurant/tapa bar in the centre area of Malaga. There are many outside seats but for ourselves the real splendour is inside the restaurant. Service is good. The food was very good and the prices are very reasonable. 😃"

The décor is traditional, with an emormous stuffed bull and bullfighting paraphernalia occupying one corner, and various trinkets and antique items randomly scattered throughout the restaurant.

A short break in: Málaga
One of our most frequented restaurants was Los Gatos on Plaza de Uncibay close to the Picasso Museum. This bar served up a simple menu of tapas which even though it wasn’t the best we had in town was still very tasty, but the atmosphere in the bar was always buzzing, and sitting on the terrace outside the bar looking out over the plaza was the best spot for people watching with a Cava or caña!
