Diners also rave about the delicious homemade cakes and pastries, with vegan options available. The cozy ambiance and exceptionally friendly staff contribute to a delightful experience, though the intimate space can feel cramped at times.

"The best coffee in Andalucia by far... I totally agree with the reviews. Very neat design and environment. Super friendly staff. Btw, you can buy coffee from them too. We tried flat white."

"Mia Coffee – A Cozy Cup with a Side of Claustrophobia

Mia Coffee is a delightful little café nestled on a charmingly narrow street, where the coffee is strong, the staff is friendly, and personal space is purely theoretical.

Inside, the café is so cozy that finding a seat feels like winning the lottery—unfortunately, I wasn’t lucky. With only a handful of tables, we had to sit outside, where two small benches provide just enough space to balance a cup of coffee and contemplate your life choices. Stretching out is not an option unless you want to introduce your feet to passing traffic.

Would I tell all my friends about this place? Probably not. But if you’re nearby and craving a really good cup of coffee, it’s worth a stop. Just be prepared to sip your drink in a space that makes airplane seats feel spacious."

You would walk right past Mia Coffee House if it wasn’t for the bright yellow facade. Tucked away on a small square behind the Carmen Thyssen Museum, this family-owned coffee shop provides a welcome respite from a day of sightseeing. The coffee, sourced mainly from Spanish micro-roasters like Mountain Coffee, is excellent, and so are the homemade treats offered daily – think rosemary & lemon cake with olive oil, goat cheesecake, and dates tart with lemon cream.

15 best breakfast cafés and coffee shops in Malaga, Spain

Mia Coffee House is another popular specialty coffee spot in the Old Town of Malaga where you can get high-quality coffee (one of the best in Malaga!) and some pastries. This time we didn’t get to sit there because there were only a few places to sit and all were occupied. We took coffee for takeaway and actually went to the nearby Astrid bakery for a piece of cake and enjoyed both of them while walking around the old town of Malaga.

Málaga (2021

If you want a “proper” coffee, by which I suppose I mean a Workhouse/C.U.P. cup of coffee, Mia does the best coffee I found in Málaga. It’s essentially another hole in the wall, but the coffee is sublime, made with care and precision and served in attractive cups, sunshine-yellow to match the awning outside.
