"We had an amazing experience at this restaurant, easily home to the best burger on the island. We ordered the double smash burger, which came highly recommended by our server—and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and accompanied by a small but delicious salad and crispy chips. We also took the server’s advice and paired it with a Tropical Sin Filtros beer, which complemented the meal perfectly.
As a starter, we shared a nacho plate that came with four unique and delicious sauces, making it a great way to kick off the meal.
To wrap up our late lunch (or very early dinner), I had a cappuccino—and I must say, it was one of the best I’ve had on the island so far. I was initially skeptical because it appeared to be topped with cinnamon powder, which in my experience has often meant a disappointing coffee. But in this case, it turned out to be chocolate, and the taste was rich and smooth with an unexpected but pleasant smoky note.
Before we left, we ordered a Tinto de Verano, a refreshing and lighter alternative to sangria that I would definitely recommend.
The service was friendly and attentive, and the ambience was excellent—lush, green, and almost jungle-like, creating a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. There were plenty of tables, so availability shouldn’t be an issue.
The only thing I didn’t personally enjoy was the burger bun, as it had a slightly sweet note that didn’t quite match my taste. That said, it may simply come down to personal preference, and others might really enjoy that flavor profile.
All in all, this spot is a hidden gem that blends quality food, great drinks, and a relaxed vibe. Highly recommended!"

"Nice atmosphere, but service was slow and unprofessional. We waited at the entrance even though we were the only ones in line — staff just looked at us without opening the gate. Then we waited quite a while for our cappuccino and latte while the staff were chatting casually. The drinks were average, and the latte was served in a plain IKEA glass. Worth visiting for the ambiance, but don’t expect good service."

"A true hidden gem in Fuerteventura! 🌴☕ Nestled between the palms, La Sombra feels like a little oasis where time slows down. The atmosphere is magical – great coffee, soft live jazz music in the background, and such a relaxing vibe.
I was especially happy to find gluten-free options, including homemade cakes that were absolutely delicious. 🍰💛 The staff were warm and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.
We were lucky to get a table immediately, however there can be a waiting line to be seated, so be prepared to wait.
If you’re looking for a dreamy spot to enjoy coffee and cake away from the crowds, this place is perfect. Highly recommend!"

26/09/2025: El lugar es realmente hermoso y está muy bien cuidado, lleno de detalles que lo hacen acogedor. También agradecemos mucho la presencia de un músico con guitarra: la música ligera complementó agradablemente el ambiente. Lamentablemente, la experiencia se vio arruinada por el servicio: las camareras fueron bastante groseras, y cuando derramaron accidentalmente la bebida que nos acababan de servir, no solo no la repusieron, sino que la dejaron en la cuenta final.

This place is pretty much an oasis in the scenic little historic town of Betancuria, that’s the best way to describe it. It’s an open restaurant serving beyond burgers surrounded by lush vegetation. The staff had an idea what was vegan so told us that there were two vegan burgers on the menu – the Beyond and a falafel burger, and that they didn’t have vegan cheese (at the moment?).

Betancuria, in the heart of Fuerteventura, perched on the mountains, is a pretty mountain village considered one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. The place is really nice, surrounded by trees and vegetation and it will almost seem like you are not in the deserted and wild Fuerteventura. The local specialty is kid, but the restaurant also offers vegetarian cuisine.

There are some great restaurants; Casa Santa Maria, La Sombra, Casa de comidas Valtarajal… You are really spoilt for choice. There aren’t any ‘tourist traps’ as such, but I would definitely look at all the menus to see which flavours inspire you. I have written about the flavours of Fuerteventura before, along with my favourite dishes on the island.
