"This place was recommended by many locals. We arrived and the place was full : 1st good sign. The main dining area is downstairs. You can see the hustle and bustle, another good sign as you see plates come and go. We sat down and where greeted and attended by Felix and Chucho, who frankly made out dinning experience delightful. We had the pre fix menu of the day. Warning : that menu was huge. The amount of food was too much, we did not get to the dinner. I am not going to dive into the details but what we had was Lk delicious, but the meat was exceptionally great."

"Great atmosphere and full nearly all of the time!
We went here twice as it came so highly recommended. Their pintxos were quite different from other places but seemed to include some of the classic ingredients.
It’s worth a try."

"Staff were attentive to all their customers. A great atmosphere. The ponchos were all so tasty! One of the best Aperol Spritz I have had in a very long time."

Things to do in Pamplona, Spain
To understand the Pamplonican obsession with small skewer foods, visit Iruñazarra. Under innovative chef Gorka Aguinaga, the restaurant’s been a serial winner or placegetter in Navarre’s annual pintxos (tapas) festival. The menu is a greatest-hits collation of miniature creations such as setera, a still-life scene of mushrooms growing in a forest, all of it edible.
Pintxos, or small finger foods, in Pamplona, much more than a fast food option
In one of the most bullfighting friendly and “San Fermin style” streets in Pamplona, it’s impossible not to succumb (several times, even) to the spectacular pintxos at this bar. Among the specialities are the varied croquettes and preparations based on quality meat. There’s a lot of artistry in the plating.
Tapas in Pamplona 2025
This one is right in Dead mans corner (Calle Mercaderes) They have one of the largest counters, everything is good. One of the things I like, is that the tapas they serve are what you see. What I mean is that if you see ham, it will taste like ham, if you see artichoke, it will taste like artichoke.
Resting and Eating in Pamplona – Peripatetic Me
At Bar Iruñazarra, I was very satisfied with the pintxo of roasted pork and potatoes on toasted baguette held together with a toothpick. A toothpick is a common sight on a pincho: “pincho” comes from the verb “pinchar” which means “to pierce”. Try saying that three times in a row!

Iruñazarra is located in Mercaderes Street, right at the famous spot where the bulls crush against a wall during the running of the bulls. You might have heard about this place as “Dead man’s corner”. In fact, nobody has died here, but The New York Times bitized it like this.

Iruñazarra: Favorite of the season: "Iruñanguilazarra", basically based on eel and quinoa properly mixed to achieve the winner of the "Pincho de Navarra 2016" contest. As a recommendation they suggested to try mini burgers.
Route of the Path
It is one of the gastronomic magnets of Pamplona’s old quarter. It is almost impossible to see it empty. Its formula successfully combines haute cuisine pintxos with an à la carte menu and menus of more classic dishes.
