What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bar Restaurante La Bodega is praised for its authentic Andalusian tapas and warm, friendly service, offering a genuine local experience away from the main tourist hubs. Diners particularly enjoy dishes like spinach croquettes and fried bacalao. However, some reviews mention significant delays in service and inconsistent attentiveness, particularly when the restaurant is busy, leading to frustrating waits for food.
"The food was quite tasty and the price was also competitive. We really enjoyed the croquettes of spinach and pine nuts. The rosada was super tasty though the mains did lack some salt which they kindly gave us. The fried bacalao was also delicious. The chicken breast was okay, though it's fine considering it's not their specialty. I would certainly come back to this place every time I visit Ronda. The service was good as well."

"Really nice place, away from Ronda very crowded places. We ordered different Kind of Tapas, wich all tasted very good.
I really can recommend to eat at that restaurant."

"Food was very average and had to wait over 45 mins to get tapas. No one even attempt to communicate even with google translate. Managed to order food but the wait after made us want to walk out. When went to ask about the lateness no staff member wanted to engage and simply made us wait longer. Very poor service and will not be coming back. The locals who came later than us seem to get food served quicker."

The Best Ronda Restaurants & Tapas Bars
No matter what your gastronomic ambitions are, you can’t spend more than a few days in Andalucia and not set foot in a typical spit and sawdust joint. While there are undoubtedly rougher round the edges places to eat where you’d still expect an excellent bite to eat, La Bodega more than fulfils this brief. All of the basic ingredients are in place, from the beams and polished terracotta floors to the legs of ham hanging above the lovely gleaming wooden bar.

Just up the road from La Cazalla is Bar Bodega in Barrio San Francisco: an authentic Spanish bar; always busy and with a great atmosphere. Their location in the breezy, tree-shaded plaza next to the Puerta de Almocábar makes them the perfect place to refresh yourselves after enjoying one of our recommended walks around Ronda. Sit outside in the plaza or admire the hanging hams inside while you nibble on their wide range of tapas, raciones and grilled meats.
Back to the "Streets of San Francisco"
This used to be Bodega San Francisco, run by Paco and Paqui and their extended family. They’ve moved their business up into Ronda and their place in the b arrio has been taken over by new people. I’ve been a couple of times for a coffee or breakfast, but it’s not what it was.
