Finally, what is probably our favourite place, not just for breakfast, Maiatza . Located in the Old Town as well (although in the Centre we can find its sister restaurant Délices Maiatza), Maiatza has toasts, bowls, smoothies and natural juices, eggs prepared in different ways, bagels… In short, everything you could want for a good breakfast or brunch. At Maiatza, they also have vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options, and a bar full of sweets and cakes for all tastes.

Perfect for breakfast, Spanish ham on toast, carrot cake, sweet pastries, fresh juice, and a cozy atmosphere. Love the location in the Old Town and right next to San Vicente Church–the oldest building in San Sebastian. A second Maiatza (Delices Maiatza) is located in the city center featuring more cake and goodies!

On my very first night in San Sebastian, tired and hungry after an unsuccessful foray into the Old Town, I was very pleased to eventually find Maiatza. Maiatza styles itself as a coffee shop, but it stays open late and serves both evening meals and a substantial brunch menu.

These last two entries aren’s pintxos or tapas bars, but places where you can get pastries and other Spanish desserts. Maiatza is a lovely cafe run by two Argentinian sisters. They offer a bit of everything from breakfast to bruschetta to vegan bowls and cocktails.

Some of the popular breakfast and brunch restaurants in the city are La Vina, Lanziego and Maiatza. After breakfast, you may go back to your hotel so you can rest a little bit before your gastronomic adventure in the afternoon.

Comme le temps était extrêmement pluvieux ce jour là, et que nous avons visité San Sebastian sous la pluie, il nous tardait qu’une chose!. Nous mettre au chaud et passer à l’apéro. Du coup nous sommes allés chez Maiatza.

It might not be your case, but we do love friendly chats over delicious snacks, and one of our favourite options is the Maiatza. This cozy bar in the Parte Vieja has an exquisite assortment of home-made desserts.

I’m so glad we ended up finding Maiatza, not only for shelter, but also for the food and service. Definitely save this place if you are interested in breakfast, as it seems like one of few options.

It has gluten-free options, it looks good but very important information!!!. “Gluten-free bread” is not bread but rather supermarket toast. I would have preferred to be notified earlier.
