"Absolutely 10/10 from this place! We loved it so much we came back on our third night. Both nights didn’t have a reservation but found a spot at the bar which is a perfect place to watch the staff efficiently do their jobs with pace.

The food is fresh and full of flavour. A specials menu changes daily by the looks of it. Maria our waitress chose a couple of dishes for us and didn’t let us down. The pork cheeks were stunning, the clams were massive, we had a shrimp tortilla which was so unique and yummy. Even the potatoes of the day blew up away! Overall I couldn’t recommend this place enough."

In its cosy interior, try a full range of Andalusian tapas, from sumptuous stewed oxtail ( rabo de toro) to moreish espinaca con garbanzos (an Arabic infusion of spinach, chickpeas and spices). Bodeguita Romero (Calle Harinas, 10) is still serving their signature carrilladas, which Sevillano friends Isabel and Julio introduced me to years ago as the best slow-cooked pig cheeks in the city. Los Coloniales (Plaza Cristos de Burgos, 19) is still dishing up generous portions of solomillo al whiskey smothered in garlic and drenched with whiskey and olive oil. And Casa Morales (Calle García de Vinuesa, 11) is still full of visitors squealing at the sight of gulas, fake baby eels made of pressed fish (like “krab” in the US), a popular replacement for anguilas (real baby eels), a delicacy that’s become prohibitively expensive.
