What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
This traditional Sevillian spot is lauded for its authentic fried seafood and reasonable prices, offering a true taste of local culture. While many praise the delicious, fresh catches like anchovies and adobo shark, some diners have encountered issues with staff communication and service, leading to a mixed experience for a few. Despite occasional service hiccups, the quality of the fried fish remains a consistent draw for visitors seeking a genuine Spanish culinary experience.
"Fantastic fried food. We took som shrimps and some anchovies and they was so goood. We were lucky to find a free table. The place was suggested by our sevillan host as he said that they are very traditional."

"Delicious fried fish and shellfish to go . They also serve beer and have outdoor seating."

"We went here for lunch after hearing good reviews from a couple of people, but we were let down by the staff over there. There was no clear communication from the waiters, and they were quite rude as well.
We first asked if there is any seat inside, but the lady staff said there isnt, and we'll have to sit outside and someone will come to cater us. So we sat in a table for 2 and no one attended us for about 10 minutes until we called someone. They did not speak English, so we used Google translate and we ordered Sangria jar and specifically wrote 500ml in our translation. And yet they brought a big jar, which must be about 1-1.25L.
They did not take any food orders, and they were not even looking at us. We again had to call them over to say that we want to order, and then the guy said they only do drinks here, and the food is next door and is a takeaway with self service! They could've mentioned it straightaway as we must've sat there for atleast 30mins waiting!
Then we had to move to another table, went into the takeaway and got the food in about a couple of minutes. The food was good and was sufficient for the both of us.
Overall, nice food, poor customer service. Maybe a lack of communication, but was a bit unpleasant."

SEVILLE AND ITS NEARBY PRODUCTS
It was 1928, the Seville of that time was working hard to open its Ibero-American Exhibition of 1929, which brought people from all over the world. At that time, a Sevillian family was raising the shutters for the first time on a fishmonger’s shop in the emblematic Puerta de la Carne neighbourhood. Meanwhile, in the fishmonger’s shop, the leftover fish was fried in the afternoons to be sold by weight wrapped in paper, becoming the first “take away” in history.
