What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Vineria San Telmo is celebrated for its phenomenal and creative tapas, blending traditional Spanish flavors with modern twists. Reviewers consistently praise the attentive and knowledgeable staff, the extensive wine list, and the overall delightful dining experience. While most experiences are positive, some note that the restaurant can get very crowded and noisy, especially during peak hours, which might detract from a romantic or intimate meal.
"I was here 9 years ago. At that time it was the best meal throughout my 2 weeks trip. I was so excited to come back to Seville again and the highlight of the trip was to come back and dine here again. Food was as amazing as I expected. Prawn carpaccio and marinated salmon are the best and not to miss. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Seville. You will not be disappointed."

"Such an amazing experience. Very friendly staff, unbelievable good food. We have such a nice time there, also our small dog wa welcome. I highly recommend to go there."
Berndt Kautter
"Great service and delicious food. Small menu, but with great options - it took me a bit to decide on the sea bass and the oxtail. Both were delicious, but the oxtail was especially yummy! I had a beer, when I ordered my second beer, the server recommended a local beer which I was happy to try. Reasonable prices. Right by the road, so there is some traffic noise, but not overly obnoxious, and muffled by the chatter of other happy patrons. Would definitely come back."

Restaurants in Andalusia
Offering dining in a dimly lit dining room or on the street-level terrace, this popular Argentinean-owned restaurant near the touristy alcázar has a menu full of surprises. All dishes—which come as tapas, half portions, or full portions (ideal for sharing)—are superb and sophisticated, especially the eggplant stew with tomato, goat cheese, and smoked salmon; and the pork with curried pumpkin and rocket. It can get very crowded and noisy, so it's not always an ideal place for a romantic meal for two.

San Telmo's innovative tapas continue to wow diners, and its tables, either outside or in the brick tiled interior, are a prized commodity.
Where To Eat In Seville: Santa Cruz Neighborhood
Vineria San Telmo is regularly mentioned as one of the best restaurants in the city, and justifiably so. Tucked away behind the gardens of Seville’s Royal Alcazar, both the interior of the restaurant and its menu seamlessly combine cherished tradition with modern flare. For traditional food, try the crepe filled with delicious morcilla (blood sausage), but the highlight of this restaurant’s eclectic menu has to be the squid ink spaghetti with garlic and grilled scallops – one of the best fusion tapas in all of Seville!
Seville Guide - Best Things to See & Do from
A firm favourite with locals and visitors alike, this lively locale serves tapas with a modern touch, such as salmon, aubergine and pumpkin ratatouille quiche, or grilled tuna with onion compote and crispy rocket. Those with a sweet tooth shouldn’t miss the superb dessert trolley, with delectable treats made by the owner’s wife – lemon meringue pie or rich flourless chocolate tart. You can choose to sit inside, where philosophical quotes dot the ceiling, or outside on the terrace.
5 Best Tapas in Seville, Spain, You Can't Miss
While tasting our way through Seville, we stopped at Vineria San Telmo for Ensaladilla de Ventescade Atun and other fusion delights. I met the modern-gastro tapas bar owner and creator. His philosophy is “I do not understand how no one has come up with proclaiming ‘la tapa’ the alimentary expression of a lifestyle in which everything is tested, talks a lot, drinks intelligently and comes to the not easy conclusion that, in small doses, the world is beautiful.
Where to Drink Wine in Seville: 6 Excellent Bars and Bodegas
Ask any local where to drink wine in Seville and chances are many of them will recommend Vinería San Telmo. Despite its status as one of the city's hottest restaurants and wine bars, this family-run spot remains true to its roots as well as its commitment to serving up some of the best food and wine in town. You'll be hard-pressed to find a more impressive wine list in Seville—or one as carefully curated—than that of Vinería San Telmo.
A weekend tapas odyssey in Seville – part one: Friday evening
I arranged to meet Shawn early on Friday evening at the Vinería San Telmo (Paseo Santa Catalina de Ribera 4) by the Murillo Gardens on the edge of Santa Cruz, the most typical of Seville’s neighbourhoods. This area attracts a lot of tourists, so it is particularly helpful to be with someone who can sort the wheat from the chaff – or the freshly-prepared delicacies from the frozen rubbish in this case.
The art of eating in Seville
For more bold flavours head over to Catalina and Vineria San Telmo, two tapas bars that stand side by side overlooking the flower-embellished Jardines del Murillo. Among the many memorable inventions are cheese, bacon and date bolsitas (pastries) in Catalina, and the rascocielo – a tower of salmon, aubergine, goat cheese and tomato - in Vineria San Telmo.
What to eat in Seville
Vinería San Telmo is more of an upscale tapas bar with as big a selection of wines as tapas. The salmorejo, cured Ibérico ham and olive oil with crusty country bread goes down a treat with a glass of Rioja. Eslava near Plaza San Lorenzo is another Sevillano favourite, apparent from the human-sardine-style packed interior.
Seville Restaurants
Vineria San Telmo, Paseo Catalina de Ribera 4: Having been recommended by several sources and articles, I enjoyed my Thanksgiving dinner having 3 tapas dishes of tuna, salmon and a roast pork. The food was really good and had great sauces with each one. The flan was also good but a little on the sweet side.
Day 155 - Seville, Spain - Andalusian cuisine: Eating tapas in Seville
The food is really good but I found the selections a bit more experimental than the last two. We wanted to try something different and not all of the dishes we ordered were the classic sort. It was a great meal but in hindsight I would have stuck to the Andalusian classics.
Seville – Every Day is a Food Day
We took a short walk out in a maze (the streets keep turning!) and we found Vineria San Telmo, a nice little bar/cafe. It has pretty high ratings on Tripadvisor!. Service wasn’t too bad and there were English menus.
SUITCASE Magazine | Where to Eat in Seville, Spain
The crispy bread-crumbed prawns with soy mayonnaise at Vineria San Telmo are truly something to write home about. Wash them down with a glass of something red and while away the evening with a local crowd.
Restaurants in Seville
It's a bit of a way from the main tourist area, which is not a bad thing. It's run by a friendly husband and wife team. He does the mains, she the desserts.
