Reviews Summary

La Cocina del Gaidovar is celebrated for its innovative fusion of traditional Spanish cuisine with a modern touch. Diners rave about the exceptional food quality, friendly service, and charming ambiance, making it a standout dining experience in Andalusia. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, one diner noted a vegetable salad as a less exciting dish.

"“A great place with an excellent chef and fantastic service. We loved every dish. Personally, I enjoyed the croquettes, grilled seabass/octopus with vegetables, and the cheesecake with cream that had a hint of cherry wine. You won’t be disappointed here.”"

"Wow! The best food I’ve had in Spain (and just generally excellent). I could eat nothing but their fresh-from-the-oven sourdough for the rest of my life, it was that good. Even a seemingly simple dish like the grilled fish was executed with such skill and detail that each bite had to be savored. My dining companion had the octopus (perfection) and the steak tartar, the latter presented in the wildly original and delicious form of what I can only describe as tiny French toast tacos though you will have to take my word for them being crazy good. The only weak note in the meal was a comparatively ordinary vegetable salad, that seemed like more of a concession to the tastes of foreign tourists like myself than a dish the kitchen was excited to share."

"La Cocina del Gaidovar offers a delightful fusion of traditional Spanish cuisine with a contemporary flair, creating an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between rustic charm and sleek, modern design, setting the stage for a unique culinary journey.

The menu is a celebration of Spain’s rich gastronomic heritage, but with a modern twist that keeps things fresh and exciting. Expect classic dishes like croquetas and carrillada , but presented in innovative ways that elevate familiar flavours. The use of local ingredients is evident in every bite, ensuring authenticity without sacrificing creativity.

We began our meal with the croquetas de jamón and shrimp croquetas which were absolutely delightful—crispy on the outside with a rich, creamy filling that perfectly blended the savory flavors of jamón and the delicate sweetness of shrimp. A perfect start to the meal.

For something a bit more indulgent, the pan brioche with steak tartare was a standout. The tender tartare paired with the soft, slightly sweet brioche bread was an unexpected but delicious combination. The freshness of the steak combined with the richness of the bread made it a unique and satisfying dish.

The linguine was another highlight, with perfectly cooked pasta coated in a light yet flavorful sauce that complemented the dish beautifully. The balance of textures and flavours showed the kitchen’s skill in bringing a simple dish to life with refined touches.

Service is attentive and knowledgeable, Sergio and Bianca are eager to share insights about the dishes and make recommendations based on your preferences. Each course is beautifully plated, with attention to detail that reflects the care and passion behind the restaurant’s offerings.

If you are looking to try something new, La Cocina del Gaidovar is a must-visit for anyone in search of a dining experience that’s both rooted in tradition and forward-thinking in its approach."
