Café Madrid Valencia is celebrated for its historic ambiance and as the birthplace of the Agua de Valencia cocktail. Many praise the expertly crafted drinks and the attentive service, particularly from staff member Oneiki. "The best cocktail bar in Valencia! We tried agua de Valencia and it was delicious and took one cocktail of autor- it was fantastic as well. Atmosphere is amazing and the barman who attended as Oneiki very professional and kind. Recommended!"

"Café Madrid inside Marqués House Hotel still feels like Valencia’s living room, a polished salon where history and easy conversation meet. Oneiki welcomed us at the bar and introduced the house specialty, Agua de Valencia, created right here. His version, bright with fresh orange and balanced citrus, showed why the drink became a city legend, and he even prepared a perfect Last Word on request.
Service was among the best we have experienced in Spain. Oneiki chatted about the café’s past while inviting us to film his pours, and a mixed snack bowl arrived filled with nuts and a pop of wasabi heat that paired beautifully with the cocktails. Soft light, classic mirrors, and low music kept the vibe effortlessly cool without feeling formal.
Great drinks, thoughtful touches, and genuine warmth make Café Madrid a must for anyone who loves cocktails and a bit of local history.
Also a shoutout to Daniel for being so kind and welcoming!"

When in Valencia, it’s obligatory to try an agua de Valencia, the local cocktail, and why not start at the place where it was invented?. It was in 1959 at Café Madrid (then Cervecería Madrid) that Gil Constante first put together the cocktail now synonymous with the city – agua de Valencia comprises fresh orange juice, cava and generous splashes of gin and vodka served over ice. Drinking the orange-coloured tipple in the opulent surroundings of Café Madrid brings a sense of returning to the Valencia of the late 20th century.
