Reviews Summary

O Refuxio D'Anton is lauded for its high-quality, fresh Galician cuisine and excellent value, particularly its seafood and signature dishes like pulpo and cheesecake. While many praise the attentive service and vibrant atmosphere, some diners note potential challenges with language barriers and inconsistent warmth towards foreigners, advising reservations and clear communication for the best experience.

"Absolutely amazing!!! If you are in the area, it's worth a visit. Delicious sea food and some lovely local food. If ever back in area I'm going. To address that foreigners not greeted warmly, we were foreigners and the staff was lovely, we did speak spanish with them as cannot expect english to be spoken everywhere. We did not have a reservation, but they had a free table, and all was really good. I can't fail them! They were great from the kitchen to servers to bar, all smiles."

"As a foreigner, they focus only on locals or Spanish-speaking dinners. I've read this in other reviews, so I planned and made a reservation. Making a reservation was hard until they got an English-speaking staff member. We arrived for our reservation and recognized some of the staff we spoke to earlier in the day. The lady who greeted us didn't ask anything and told us to sit at the wall with a minimal table space to hold a plate. Upset that we had a reservation, I approached a person I recognized and told her we had a reservation. She looked and noticed we did have a reservation and brought us upstairs. Some of the staff don't welcome foreigners. Be wise, make a reservation, and be firm that you belong. Also, there are far more friendlier places only a few steps away. Great food but unwelcoming staff"

"Very fine quality local cuisine, very fresh, simply prepped and flavoured. If you don’t speak menu Spanish you may struggle with dishes of the day, English is not widely used by the staff. But the quality makes up for this. Excellent good value wine. Rustic atmosphere, calm upstairs busy buzz downstairs."

When you see the large dishes of Calamares, homemade croquetas and the famous pulpo on the menu, you know you have stumbled on a real gem. The prices are cheap, and the wine is fantastic.
