"I was the first person to arrive after they opened the doors. I don't think anybody was fully awake:). No one really spoke to me. Space was clean very cold on that February morning. The mushrooms made up for everything. Stacked high on a piece of bread drizzled with a beautiful green sauce that had a strong garlic flavor but was simultaneously delicate. I don't usually eat bread as most of the time I find it extraneous, but it has soaked up all the sauce and the mushroom juices and could simply not be left behind!! Despite the cold, a caña was perfect with it. GO!"

"Bar el Champi: an interesting concept, but lacking in flavor
Champi Bar is a small venue with an original concept: skewered mushroom caps drizzled with a sauce made from garlic, parsley, and olive oil. Typically, the dish is served on a slice of bread and topped with a small shrimp. We asked for it without bread, and the staff accommodated our request without hesitation — which I truly appreciated. The team is young, friendly, and attentive to guests’ preferences.
Unfortunately, the taste didn’t live up to the idea. The mushrooms felt undercooked to me — maybe in an attempt to keep them juicy, but they ended up tasting raw. They lacked salt and any real depth of flavor. The sauce, which I expected to be bright and garlicky with a hint of herbs, came across as nothing more than oil — flat and unremarkable. The shrimp on top was tiny and completely flavorless, likely from a standard frozen pack.
Some friends had mentioned the sauce was aromatic and complex, even reminding them of blue cheese. But personally, I didn’t taste anything of the sort — no aroma, no richness, nothing distinctive.
The drink selection was quite limited as well — very little to choose from. The space itself is small, with minimal seating; most guests stand while eating. Everything is served in plastic containers, reinforcing the “grab-and-go” concept rather than inviting you to sit down and enjoy a proper meal.
Would I return? No. While this might appeal to hardcore mushroom lovers who don’t need bold flavors, it just didn’t work for me. The idea is interesting, but the execution needs refinement to truly deliver on its promise."

Solo sirven una única tapa, pero bien hecha: champiñones con aceite, ajo y perejil, y un par de gambitas, sobre un trozo de pan.

Ten en cuenta que este local únicamente sirve este pintxo y suele estar lleno, por lo que si no quieres esperar mucho o hacer cola para poder quedarte en alguna de las zonas que tienen para comerlo, es preferible ir fuera de horas punta. El precio del champi son 2,20 euros y te avisamos, aunque el pintxo está impresionante, comértelo sin mancharte es todo un arte.
